This is very strange. It hasn't even been the full thirty days yet...
Should we wait for tomorrow, or email him now? It seems like the next logical step...

Sheesh, I knew the minute of footage we got would be disappointing, but... really?
"Oh, I got something!"
-staticstaticcreepyshadow-
"No idea what that is, but stay tuned so I can make you pay for another video!"
I'm back to lurking for this one. If it updates, it updates. But if not, that's cool. Not even gonna bother.
TDKR, MIB, MDT, and now it's now-i-know. It seems like the ARGs I've started joining have just been disappointing so far. :/ Slow year, maybe?

I'm gonna keep on this because it has potential, but yeah, it's pretty disappointing.
On the download page, does anyone know what the "Video From RC Car" refers to?

The... uh... video from the RC car, perhaps? The static-tunnel-shadow clip.

*sigh* The refund policy from the site in case anyone hasn't spotted
Quote:
now-i-know.com has a NO REFUND policy.
All sales are final. Since you cannot physically return our video files, we do NOT give refunds.
Which basically means that the videos might as well be rickrolls

I am dissapoint.
Has anyone bought any of that stuff? Do you think this is an ARG or some kind of wierd scam? It seems quite proffesional for a scam, yet very odd for an ARG.... I for one am not parting with my hard earned cash dollarz.....

The link I posted in the post above you is the version you get when you pay for it. (which i did not do, but someone on youtube did)
This is all very weird. I can't imagine this is any type of marketing for anything now, they've made more enemies than friends. What a let down.

Seriously? Well that is more than a little disappointing. And I had such high hopes for this one...charging for the next installment AND also asking for donations? Jeez...
Since I assume they are reading this forum - my advice to the creators:
In general, other than sponsored ARGs there has not been much success in pay-to-play games whether it is direct payment like EA's ill-fated Majestic to the puzzle cards of Perplex City. In general, people don't seem to be too willing to shell out $ for an art/entertainment form that has always been free with minor exceptions that didn't work out too well.
Aside from any general issue of whether you can charge for an ARG, sending out a teaser, then springing the pay on people to continue is not good form. On top of that, it is difficult to decide to even do that because we don't know how much we are going to have to pay over the life of a game. If I pay now am I in for the rest? Will I keep having to pay to continue? Once you start charging you need to clearly set expectations of what we will get for our money. And that includes more detail on what, exactly, we are buying into. Is it an ARG? A soap-opera? Just one extra footage release?
And on top of that you just slashed the TINAG (this is not a game) aspect. O.k., so you want big bucks to not release the video because you found some secret. Good set-up. But now instead of just releasing it you are charging a small fee to view the video...doesn't fit in with the original premise very well.
Great first video, good story set-up, fantastic promotion judging from the video views and then...a serious WTF?
Or is this just video Spam? You made up one teasing video, held out some minor lame extra footage, and hoped enough people would be roped in to paying the viewing fee to make some money on what, assuming you were vacationing in Egypt in the first place, probably cost nothing to do? 'Cause that's what it's looking like at this point.
That's my 2 cents. Off to find something interesting to follow....

Gotta say - I love Tharol's one liners. Where you from Tharol?
Can't get over how much of a sham this is. Plus the fact that he ... no, you know what. He said earlier that "they" want to kill him. He better know that this scam has caused "their" numbers to increase.
EDIT: Also more to opine about: Now you know? Now you know what exactly? You actually no nothing other than that there was a guy down there talking to someone else. And that means .... what exactly. Was really hoping for some great reveal, but all it is is rubbish. 2nd ARG I'm greatly disappointed in.

This can't be a scam. If it is, we have the right to sue him.

Sue him for what? He made no promises, merely implied. He showed us a video, and then offered to sell us additional footage. Highly misleading, very disappointing, but hardly illegal.
