This was a really interesting thread to read. I think it's interesting that such strong feelings are generated at the prospect of someone being inspired by something else they've seen, which is essentially what we're dealing with. (I'm not too well-versed in this topic, but apparently BT is making money from his project? Can anyone give me specifics on that?) I know it's tough to see something you like, or maybe even something that you made yourself, get shamelessly ripped off, but it happens. It's kind of just something you have to deal with, and it doesn't really damage the originals. If anything, it can bolster them now that they can be considered "the originals."

To be honest, though, I couldn't sit through one of BlameTruth's videos (the scary Pokemon Blue one). I was just like GET A BLOODY MOVE ON MAN! The storytelling was artless and the story itself was pretty ham-fisted in its attempts to appear genuine. But while I can say I didn't care for the series, I can't say that this guy is "wrong" for doing what he's doing. Is he kinda douchey and unoriginal? Yes. But maybe he'll take this as a learning experience and make something better.

I'm such an optimist. Hurr durr.

I'm also a traditionalist when it comes to pancakes. Maple syrup--the real shit. Smile
