based on what has appeared from the messages so far, I think this is a simple challenge to prove your ability to play the game.

R.M - I got the same feeling that it had to do with a new video game early on, he is also tweeting to a lot of game companies but that could just be a clue that it is a game.

This guy also reminds me of the Year Zero game, I watched it as I caught the end of it and it had a lot to do with sound and video which was to be expected as it was Trent Reznor. Maybe this is a game for a new album like that was?

I am glad to be on early in this one as the only other one I got in early for was that viral thing, Alive or Falcon Rock Command but it went bust because the tv deal fell through.

(Pretty new to ARGs so Ill probably just be an observer for now, last one I tried was LG15/KateModern and that was yoonks ago Razz but hi to everyone.)

He started tweeting again about an hour ago, links to what appear to be sound files as previous (on a mobile til tomorrow so I can't be entirely sure, I get a flash needed image). If you got all of yesterdays, the last being @FullSail about 16 hours ago, you need to start with @jkeston (just to make it easier :] )

Anybody got an update of the message they wanna share?

Edit: had a hunch, that went nowhere. The people he's @ing don't seem to have any correlation, from a university to a spam user to random peoples accounts. Ill probably still keep an eye on who he's @ing just to see if any patterns pop up, but none so far seem to be in a pattern or even a connection.

From what I have seen the @'s seem to relate in some way to sound, marketing/gaming, music, game development, and of course ARG (one to unfiction Very Happy ) I just noticed on the 4 ET tweet, the one guy is a sound designer for games, so I think he is either hinting at the fact it is a game or it is a game for a video game (did I seriously just get into a game that is about a game?)

If you look at all his earlier tweets, they all seem to give clues - easiest one to figure out was Wheatstone, the playfair cipher. I saw someone respond with "haha, play fair!" and it is now gone. The other I got right away was Robot - 36 which, other than the manufacturing company, was a method of transmitting images through a radio signal - HAM radio.

One of the quotes was from a play (I will have to look it up again,) and as for "a welcome more befitting" I seem to remember a play or movie that used a similar line but it was a "goodbye" or "farewell more befitting."

I don't know what some of it has to do with this game, just the idea that it all seems to connect to audio/video/theatrics and cryptology/gaming. I may be grasping at straws but maybe not and it is all clues. Just my twopence.

Ah, I see your point, Blinky , but that appeared a little too broad for me to see a pattern. (And I meant the specific @ing pattern for all the soundclips) it could quite easilly just be demographic.

Have there been any locale clues yet? Only I went on http://whois.domaintools.com/phonopath.com and it appears that the domain is registered to somewhere in Massechusis(sp?). Could be that that is where any "real" clues are gonna be placed, or could just be the address registered from. Either way, good to note early on I suppose ;P

Edit: just read it again, think I'm confusing myself lol maybe someone who knows what they're doing should take a look rather than daft ol' me? Razz

Thanks amandel, I should have updated with a new post, since we are past that page. I'm going to spec the word we are spelling now will turn out to be...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
potential...making the message "EXPOSING THIS NOTE PROVES YOUR POTENTIAL"

This may prove to be a really silly question, but what number?

*eta Never mind, it was a silly question. Doh!

**eta The main page at Phonopath has been updated to show a cartoon type drawing. If you click on the door, a very faint, "patience" will appears briefly.

Blinky - I noticed the same connection types and seem to be grasping at the same straws as you. Besides the letter reveals in the sound clips, the other messages seem to relate specifically to at least one of the addressees. I don't know if they're intended as clues or not. If so there are plenty to think about.

comadarkvale - I called the number a few days ago and left a message with my number but didn't hear back. Cool that you got a response. I should've texted - maybe I still can.

In the recent tweet where he said he would give a hint for his favorite sound, to me it sounded like static or electricity.

I sent a text to him right after the first message appeared simply saying I cannot wait to hear the gift, the sound. and left my numbers, I got a message back simply saying "good," kinda an anti climax.

As for his favorite sound, if you notice he talks about death spanck. If you look up images for that game, you will see what he is talking about, the game is a mix of monkey island and diablo (developers words).

As far as stages, I think he has told us exactly how much we will have to go through but I don't know if this little puzzle counts as one or not.

Guess time will tell.

I am also guessing the next word is the same as what you have enaxor, I just wonder if it is the last word or if the next may be "for"

That tweet was at Hothead games who is the developer of Deathspank.
In the 7:06 tweet he said he does love that d n b – which is drum and bass music and is specific to the addressees in that tweet.
He talks about education and students in the tweet at Full Sail University.
The one to cliffyb says he played through his masterpiece, which I think refers to Epic games Gears of War or Unreal because cliffy b is Cliff Bleszinski from Epic games.

I don't know if there is any purpose for these specific messages in each tweet - but it shows that some planning and time was spent finding relevant info pertaining to the tweetees.

I'm real curious to know what this is about. But I will follow the message at the door enaxor mentioned and try to be patient.

One of the new messages

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
says "break" I am guessing that is the queue for us to start a new sentence. Everyone else get "exposing this note proves your potential (break) Nin" so far?

I am really getting curious about what this game is marketing if anything at all, I love that it seems to based around sound exclusively.

And welcome to the game Zerosum, still at the beginning of it so jump right in. (you responded while I was typing) Only links we have so far are his twitter and his .com, seems to have started a new line today, guess we are waiting for some more audio messages.

Edit - His newest message is funny, love the music he is making.

Yep got the same - nine now. hmm...?

The pattern is hourly until 11:06 - if so that's 5 more sound files tonight.

The fun stuff in the sound file from the tweet to zq_audio is from the Commander Keen video games from id Software back in 1990s and zq is Zachary Quarles who works with id Software.
