ramisis solution, who wants it?

AZ-Spyder wrote:
It's been a long time since this "puzzle" was released...

Videos, blogs, and the like, featuring the solution to the Isis and the Copernisis are widely available. But not the Ramisis... Why?

Because the ramisis is f***ing hard, and not easy even once you know the solution!

I opened the key-chamber a while back by randomly twisting and rolling the pyramid out of frustration. Unfortunately I foolishly closed it without removing the key. (For some reason I thought that it could be immediately reopened)

My problem now is that I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.. Is the "puzzle" completely reset? Is there a new goal I'm supposed to work towards? CAN the "puzzle" be reset? Is the "puzzle" completely useless?

I've poured over this thread many times now, and have been unable to piece together anything useful due to the fact that a lot of this information is misguided, too vague, edited/deleted, or outright bunk.

My only mission now is to get it open, and take it apart. I understand that I could do this in a number of unorthodox ways, but I really don't wish to destroy or deface it in any way as it's quite pretty, and I paid a hefty sum for it.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ok I'll lay it out straight for you. The ramisis is a two-way maze. One way (the "first" way) the BB starts at the bottom, goes to the top, then ends at the bottom again (but in a slightly different place). This is the "easy" solution which you can arrive at almost by accident. Upon turning the base layer in this position, the key chamber will pop out. Now, if you re-insert the key chamber, the only way to get it back out again is to go backwards through the maze. Again, bottom, to top, to bottom. At this time the key chamber will pop out again and if you re-insert, you'll be back at square 1, exactly how the puzzle shipped on the day you got it. But realize that this is literally going backwards through the same corridors, and it is insanely hard doing this maze backwards due to the positioning of certain holes and elements in the puzzle. (You'll understand once you see my solution videos).

I have developed a solution for both the forward path, AND the reverse path. it is entirely repeatable, but very complicated and requires a great deal of dexterity and balance. If you have shaky hands, you're screwed.

Truth be told; I don't care about the Isis-Adventure(tm) and I do not plan to purchase another one of these. I don't care about any puzzler's-pride, and I just want to open it, take it apart, and see how it works... I'm no longer interested in solving it on my own.

Most of all, I'm tired of everyone's over-zealous and misplaced loyalty to SW, and their guarding-the-secret-to-the-death attitude regarding this stupid pyramid.

Can anyone give me a straight-forward, step-by-step solution to this thing?

-Thank you very much in advance, and I eagerly await any feedback,
Spyder

For those of you who want me to re-post my videos to youtube showing both the forward, backward and disassembly of this puzzle (and yes they are entirely real), please reply back to this thread. I don't respond to PMs. If enough of you want the solution, I'll give you a date and time when I will put up the videos on youtube. I don't want to keep them up forever though because I want newbies to still struggle with the puzzle for a while. It took me countless hours to finally get this thing apart and even longer figuring out how to repeatably solve it.

At what point does the key chamber release? After you get it down the shaft, or do the ROHs need to be navigated BEFORE the key chamber releases?

Also, I'm stuck in I believe the upper ROH...any hints on which layer in particular (or layers) need to be moved to get it down to the next ROH?

Any help would be much appreciated! Sad

Cheers!

And thayneq, any chance those videos could be uploaded to a private channel? or the files transferred?

Cheers again!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The key chamber releases once the BB is in the lowest level (base). The order in which you have to navigate are:
1) Start in base.
2) navigate into LROH
3) navigate into UROH
4) navigate into shaft
5) navigate into base.
6) twist base (placenta locks) and keychamber pops out.

If you want to plug it back in and go backwards, you just follow the reverse course. But mind you, it's extremely difficult. Also a little known fact that's sure to piss off very many of you: You can disassemble the puzzle right when the key chamber pops out the first time. You do NOT need to go through the reverse solution! This was really just a lie made up by SW to force people into locking their puzzles with no hope of getting it disassembled, since once you put the key chamber back in the first time, you MUST solve it backwards before you can pop it out again and thus disassemble. Twisted Evil

About time

I must say your you tube video was great, and at last great for some one to give people who do want to know the inside info. I see nothing wrong with that as the puzzle is old now and with the fourth on the way can't hurt, and if u don't want to know, then don't look. But thank you ! I have to still get mine open even although I've had it since they first came out, and even knowing how it works it's still hard. But I guess you need to keep at it which I haven't. But can you tell me what the numbers are stamped on the bottom. A"0" and a "1" and where or what line they should be to start or finish the puzzle. I know there to help but not sure how. Again thanks for videos and help !

Thanks, I've already seen video as I have all ready said, and was very good.nice to see after so long it can be solved! But this is 'as factory' set. As mine has been played with I was wondering if using the numbers stamped on the corners could help me reset some how? If any one knows could they reply. Thanks

The numbers simply help you align the puzzle properly. In my video (in the reset condition), the numbers are positioned in the front right corner.

As for starting from a non-reset position, see my earlier post regarding the solution order. You simply need to know where you are and where you need to go.

Help if you can

Hi, well now I think I'm getting somewhere but now stuck, I have following your help, but now my placenta is locked at the back turning counter clock wise, turning all the pieces clock wise is not unlocking it, and I can't turn all pieces counter clock wise as per your video. So I guess I've done something wrong. But I dont want to move anymore in case I'm nearly there? Any ideas. Many thanks

Hmm, this doesn't make sense. When holding the base layer and turning the placenta, those should lock with placenta at back. But the other two layers in the middle should always be able to turn no matter what. Are these not turning too?? If the placenta is locked at the back, the key chamber should have already popped out. (It pops out when placenta is 90degrees, in other words, when the placenta is actually FACING the key chamber). When you keep turning, that's when it locks. If you've already locked it, then your only hope is to do the extreme challenge and solve the puzzle backwards.

These were filmed a long time ago, but since the ramisis has had so little love lately, I decided to put them up to reignite the spark. Hopefully the gold redo doesn't go the way of the ramisis Laughing

Advise

Hi sorry, yes the other pieces can move. Just the two top ones "locked" when turning counter clock wise. With placenta facing the back and the writing facings forwards. I can move all clockwise. And if i tilt i can again turn all counter clockwise. But when I upright it again the top two will lock again with placenta at the rear. I have not unlocked at all yet. It feels as if the BB could be locking or catching the shaft at the bottom? On the left hand side. If you have a idea where i am and what to do next I would be grateful. Thanks again for replying !

Grr

Hey guys long time since ive been here but have been busy with work. since the gaming industry has slowed right down i thought i would give my Ramisis another go. Ive watched your vids thayneq and they show all the moves ive been doing. I shake my Ramisis to try and find where the bb is and it sounds like its coming from the top but im uncertain. I have a toothpick in the hole so the key dosnt throw me off. Ive checked the corners and there are no number markings so im screwed to know where i am in the puzzle... can someone help?
