As a movie itself? It very good, I thought it was paced well. And carried itself nicely, My only few problems? Was the ending, It last it's fire during he ending. The killing of Slender Man felt really forced/didn't make sense. He Felt powerful, I don't see how he even died by that.

It was also confusing, How did he tie into it exactly? I felt the movie would of been better without Slender Man honestly. IMHO, he felt tacked on.

Besides, that, Major props. I enjoyed it besides those few glares.

It was good, exept for the ending. Don't let that discourage you though, let's remember Stanley Kubrick's first film was mediocre to. No I'm not saying your stanley Kubrick, but I am saying we all start somewhere, even the greats.

I groaned inwardly at the cliche
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Zombie walking forward with its arms straight out.
Seriously. The acting wasn't that bad. Dean and Selina were obviously supposed to be annoying, so if you end up hating those characters, I believe that's good acting.

The pacing was bad. As opposed to the usual problem of jumping into things too soon, it was an hour of totally useless and annoying footage before interesting stuff starts happening. The only important scene to the plot was the campfire story.

It takes more than good acting, though. Some parts seemed utterly contrived. When Steve shows up and
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
simply answers, "I've come here to kill you."
seemed pretty stupid and not very believable unless you're trying to portray him as stupid.

Reitirating my main gripe, it was just too much filler in the beginning. Yeah, I know there was a half-second glimpse of the Windigo near the 11-minute mark. I'm a Slender Man fan; I'm no stranger to half-second glimpses of the Slender Man. Cut out half the movie's scenes and you'd have a better-paced, more interesting movie.

About an hour in, when the action starts, things start getting really weird to me, but that's the only interesting part so I'll cut it some slack.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Zombies coming flooding in and the protagonist's friends suddenly having shotguns and pistols was a what-the-heck for me.
The ending conflict seemed way over-the-top action movie style contrasted with the meek, realistic documentary beginning.

I'm a huge stickler for action choreography and tend to be pretty harsh with that. The fight scenes are what you'd expect from a low-budget film.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Especially entertaining for me, although not great for the director, was when Reese was ramming Brandon into the truck. When Reese stopped, Brandon apparently didn't realize it, and flopped into the truck one more time, with the last-second adlib flip of Reese's wrist.

On a positive note, I was really impressed with the special effects toward the end of the movie, although an appearance by the Windigo earlier in the movie looked like a cardboard cut-out Slender Man. I may have been looking at it wrong, but you know people are going to go back and look at it in slow motion. The
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
gunshots and flames
looked really good.

All-in-all, it wasn't outstanding. Not horrible and not a masterpiece. My overall opinion remains the same: Slow-paced with too much filler in the beginning, good special effects, hurt by contrivedness and a few cliches, but worth a look if your into B-movies.

That's my short review on it.

But I give the guy a break, for most vlogs haven't even ended yet. It's very hard to end a vlog, I think, unless you leave it open-ended.

In terms of student films, this is a near masterpiece. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the dialogue...it's funny and at times subtle. Around 0:55 the girl was very clearly indicating that she wanted sex, and her boyfriend is like "it's alright...we just gotta find Selena" and he didn't realize what she was talking about until the next scene (1:05). I dunno, I thought that was kinda subtle than what you would expect from a B film.

But yeah, at times (the first half) I kinda felt like I was watching a real documentary being made. The dialogue and acting (besides the brown-haired girl) were pretty realistic.

It was a confusing movie though. I didn't understand the deal with the island, and pretty much the entire ending. These were these guys with white shirts...who are they? why does everyone have guns? The bathroom scene was great, especially when he shoots slendy but ended up actually shooting his friend...clever!

I had difficulty telling apart the characters, though...that was a major problem. So is that epilogue part.

I went back and watched this again. Honestly, make a few separate cuts. Change the ENTIRE last quarter of the movie. Make the dialogue a tad more believable. Seriously, change a bit of this, and you have a masterpiece on your hands. Also...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the scene where the camera is on the ground and The Slender Man is walking towards it still gives me nightmares

Let me preface by saying that there was clearly a lot of time, effort, and passion put into this film. And it didn't succumb to as nearly as many fandom tropes as I was expecting. The Divine Posse Crew clearly had no hand in the creation of this.

My only major qualm is this.
Seeing a text card, in what is very similar, if not the exact same font as Marble Hornets, I immediately assumed this was another heavily influenced and poorly implemented "copycat" (for lack of a better word).

Obviously it wasn't IMO, but I still thought is was annyoing.

The only redeeming quality of this was the bathroom scene. That's about it,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Door Opens, Slender Man, Fires Shotgun, Slender man is gone and best friend dies of bullet wound
