I definitely don't think Jay has hurt the Operator in any permanent way, but maybe he set him back, discouraged him for a while or somesuch. Alternatively, something is wrong with Alex so the Operator's sticking by him.

And we do know that the Operator didn't bug Alex for three years, right? So maybe a one year gap in the Operator bugging Jay isn't a huge deal to the Operator.

I see your point and raise you this.

Tim is not protecting Jay through the entire season two, but instead throws the OperAlex a red herring which throws them off course for finding Jay. This allows Tim to finally have a normal life while Jay is protected.

I actually have this big theory which ties together the whole relationship of Jay and TiMasky that I'm going to type up soon. It'll explain what I think about this in better detail.

It will certainly change things.

Off topic, but I'll probably post my theory tomorrow and it's more about the entire series than solely about the relationship of Jay and TiMasky, but that is an important theme.

Tharol- I think there's more than one Masky, if we count Hoodie as one, and I do. So in my mind, there's at least two Maskies.

No, as far as I know, the third (if you say Blasky and Hoody are the same) is the so-called "Skully"... which I think it's ridiculous, for his only appearence being an almost still frame in #26... but I'm not really updated about what's the general concensus about "Skully".

And about the one spying Jay... [Wild Speculation Appears!] well, that could be the ToTheArk, the one who uses the camera in the MaskyTeam, who knows... It's too "unclear" in the video to really tell which one could be.

But, as far as I know, there wasn't an agreement about if the guy spying Jay in #39 even had a mask. Check the last too points in "Theories and Observations": http://marblehornets.wikidot.com/entry-39

 		I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before....

We know Jay is susceptible to the operator's influence... we've seen him sickening, losing time, etc...

What we witnessed in the hotel room... not an attack on the Operator, but Jay's full conversion to "proxy-ism"? Taking Alex's place?

At this point he seems to be picking up where he left off before... trouble sleeping, feeling ill, strange obsessions. He hasn't been filming himself, so we don't know (and neither does he) if he's missing time. He seems more interested in finding Tim than finding Jessica or even Alex.

Maybe he's tracking Tim down FOR the Operator, not himself.

1) I think it's pretty clear it's an attack,
2) It's to early to say he's picking up where he left off before. Still, he seems to be obviously going this way.
3) He's more interested in finding Tim because he has no fucking clue where Jessica or Alex may be. Instead, he has seen Tim in the downtown.
4) I think if he were a proxy, he wouldn't be keeping us updated, since he's going to murder them or do something pretty nasty. And don't forget: The hotel attack happened more than half a year ago, almost a full year. So he would have been a proxy for a hole year, when he could have just ended his Entries saying he was safe etc, and S2 wouldn't have existed (because it would be more convinient to him, if he's tracking people down for ol' Oppy, to not have like 10 thousand people watching his videos)
5) It's just not OOG conviniently: it's not fun to storytell...

^All of this, also: we don't even know that Alex is dead. Why would Slendy need a new proxy? Jay isn't even that useful of a guy to have 'round in the first place...I'm not even sure Oppy could make him less of a stumbling around moron. (said in the most MH-loving-way possible) Very Happy
