So the candy land board spaces are in repeating order:
Red-purple-yellow-blue-orange-green

when mapped out across the grid you get the attached image below.

maybe if we collect the letter groups from this we can get something?

example:
1 - HDN
2 - HF
3 - HRC
4 - PI
5 - PR
6 - PRE
etc...

There's no purple in the grid, but the pink could be meant to match with that since the actual pink spaces on the board seem to be different to the others (pictures in them).

I have no idea how this could work, since there are more than 33 spaces on the board and repeating colours for each number on the grid.

Try taking the rainbow bridge... that cuts down the number of spaces considerably. I matched purple to pink and got "THE" as a possible solution for the first three spaces.

You did? I got "ACE" for the first three... then I got stuck with the fourth because there's no orange in position 4 on the grid.

Edit - Am I looking at a different board to everyone else???

In breathing_room, Standish keeps calling her Miss Sopek. I've tried a number of spellings with no success.

Is her rank supposed to be tech specialist? Maybe it's another name, or something. I tried training, orientation.

woah nelley .. i'm not sure we are looking fFor the name of the "her". it sounds like Herzog is talking to someone else (someone who's rank is Tech Specialist, and name is --------)

I think this is a reference to the original Candy Land board game, whose slogan was "A sweet little game for Sweet Little Folks."

But i can't find a good image of the original game board online. Does anyone own this?

Jumping to conclusions, it's probably related to the embedded image in farnsworth with the grid of colors. Then again, the colors might not match with the colors on the board.

From www.boardgamegeek.com a pic of the candyland board:

Uh oh. I was using this one, which appears to have different colors than the one you posted. Crud. Now we have to try to find the "standard" Candyland board. I hope this isn't like looking for a list of exactly 42 prepositions. Mr. Green

You're right, and that name is carmi.wav

Actually the board from http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/16894 has the quote "for sweet little folks" on it, which matches the clue, so I'm inclined to go with that one.

It's Tech Specialst Carmi. Her name was lifted from wrong_office.wav.

WIKI

I am working on this -don't worry -- I will get the solves correctly attributed.

I had a misunderstanding about thebruce's time availability to work on this today -- he is way, way faster and more capable than I am - so I am now trying to let him take over and just fix the stuff I missed from the forums.

Sorry... but everyone will get proper credit for solves... I promise..

I was wondering why Blicero started with red instead of purple.

I was thinking since it was a "race" that you have to go through and see what place each letter would finish in if you mapped out the moves. Remember that you have to finish on a blue.

Milton Bradley made the game, which is now owned by Hasbro. There have been changes to the board, and all the characters/map changed sometime after the 1985 edition.

(from Hasbro's picture archive on the CandyLand sub-site)

Sorry, should say that the PM's are probably a bit older than 19, so go with a more classic version of the board.
