Yay, the often mentioned but never spoken to Winston, the repairman, makes his entrance! \(^O^)/

I am curious though; do the domain names for Skyfall or Winston mean anything?

Looks like we aren't done yet! Woohoo! Alright Winston. Great to finally hear from you in earnest. So glad we have more to do.

Woah, I get pulled offline for a week cause of school, and we're almost at the end! Judging from the way things are looking, I think the PMs have at least one more surprise for us... But yeah. It's been an awesome 122 pages with y'all, guys!

I had sent Winston an email asking about the Jhuku. This is his response...
Quote:
Thank you, the Jhuku has got his abilities back since he got back from the future. The people form there were able to deactivate the nano-particles Genus installed to him way back.

Everything is fine now, I will be sending out some instructions later today. Just a few errands that needs to be done before the Jhuku is sent to Hovago. Let's just all cross our fingers that everything is at peace now and that we'll finnaly be able to rest from all of these troubles and annoyances we've been facing the last few months.

Looks like one last hurrah.

Daniel and I have been talking about the origin of those coded images, and I got this email a couple of days ago (was away for weekend):
Quote:
I justgot your message, LAINSY just finished her boot. It's her first cold boot in a while, so it took her a longer then usual to start up.

Anyhow, we haven't fully traced the origin of the images, but we'll look into that soon. Additionally, we suspect someone might have hardcoded something onto LAINSY. We can't verify what or which, but the Dev Team is onto it.

Oh, and Genus got 45459 back, have you heard? Apparently, we need to assist 45459 to get to where he needs to go. But we're not in a rush here, so that can wait. What I am very much curious to know is how we'll able to help these friends of his from the future, you know... From the collapsing timeline... We can't just put them back there, it's like giving them a death sentence... We also can't just have them stay here, unless of course it's ok for them. We're still planning things out for them, and hopefully, we could come up with something.

So Genus's friends from the collapsing timeline need help I guess? Does whoever talks to Genus know more about this issue? Do they need our assistance somehow?

Also to add to Lystella's question

That's a nice observation! So far we have:
Alex Sword (when he was Codebreaker/Scimitar) - 7363696d69746172SPLATnull.net
Patrice Heinz (aka Netspec/Network Specialist) - netspecSPLATtechnologist.com
Skyfall Register - skyfallSPLATinsurer.com
Winston Yu - winston_yuSPLATrepairman.com

I asked about Hovago and Neiroku:

Quote:
I knew you'd ask, but I remember Genus Orein telling about it. Anyhow,

Hovago is a very ancient race who existed very close to the beginning of the universe. They've been more or less politically neutral, however, they are involving themselves in mission of the Jhuku as they, themselves are not excempt from the catastrophe that will happen. It's more or less a self-preservation act. Imagine losing your millions of millenia information to one catastrophe that wipes the universe clean.

The Hovago are situated near the far ends of the universe, reaching them is not an easy task, nearly impossible in fact. However, they themselves can pull anyone from anywhere in the universe to their location very easily. The Hovago are better known as the universe's knowledge keepers, they can observe anything that's happening across the universe. However, being politically neutral, they don't take action and don't participate in any undertaking other races has been doing.

The Neiroku is a sub-faction of the Hovago that are in charge of keeping track of time, in fact, they are the ones who can turn back time for the Jhuku when a cycle ends and a new one is to be started.

The Hovago are very far advanced compared to any race you can find in the universe, at least as far as I know. Being able to see and observe from afar, they can virtually "steal" technology without being discovered. They can be considered the most powerful beings in the universe. Despite what most races think, the Hovago are not beings that have acended into a state of beings of pure energy. The Hovago believe that one should stay in the state you developed into, forcing evolution or change only disrupts fine balance between the universe's several quantums that keeps it at a stable state of expansion and development.

When a reset is needed, they seal off the Jhuku into a quatified state of existence isolating him from the universe (theoretically placing him outside the universe into an sub-universe outside in a void area) and once the reset is complete, he is pulled back retaining his state and knowledge... However, when he is pulled back, is placed in a completely random location (and time) in the universe and starts collecting information.

I basically expressed my wonder of the universe, and got some more tidbits of possible interest/background stuff:

Quote:
I am glad that you are very pleased about the mysteries of the universe! Like what most of the ancient races of Oriru Serku says, "The universe is nearly unlimited, that anything is possible. You just have to make the right conditions at the right time, then anything you wish could happen."

The Hovago is still a big mystery even for the Oriru Serku, we haven't met, yet, any other race that come close to the age of the Hovago. It still quite far-fetched for us to be able to unless they themselves come to meet us, just like the Hovago. The Hovago came to Oriru Serku at their own will, seemingly impressed by our ventures to try and prevent the catastrophe.

Anyway, I will be sending the instructions you will need to do, shortly. Good luck! And never stop dreaming of possibilities! Remember, anything can happen!

It never hit me how long these cycles have been going on until I read "Imagine losing your millions of millenia information..." O_O Whoa...they've been at it for a LONG time! EDIT: If I had a jellyfish for every post I misread during my time here on Unfiction, I'm sure I'd have filled an aquarium the size of a house by now >.<

Here's some history about how the catastrophe came to be known as well as background into the human's capacity to store information:

Quote:
The Jhuku is like a "timecapsule", that's the best translation I could get for your language, where you put information of the past in it only to be recovered at a later date. In our case, he is a timecapsule of information not only of technological advancement and other scientific data, but most importantly details of how the catastrophe developed.

Before the first cycle was performed, even before the Jhuku was even delegated, several of the ancient races have detected an anomaly in the universe. An anomaly which would later develop as an end to the universe itself and all of existance. From there, they banded together to form the Oriru Serku. However, their attempts to avoid and at the very least postpone the catastrophe failed. That was until they met our race, the humans. Only then that they devised the plan regarding the Jhuku and to reset time back to a particular point of the universe's time.

It was only the humans who are capable of storing information in our own bodies effectively. Our DNA has evolved into a higher state at that point in the future (at our current state in your time, you still not capable of the same attributes humans from the future became to) where our DNA can store information in a nearly infinite capacity. Your current DNA is capable of storing information, there are three sections of the DNA that can store information, one is the standard structure that can be easily read which conveys information on how to develop parts of your body and so forth. The second section of your DNA can store information regarding past life of your parents, their parents, your great grandfather, and so on. It the information aids in evolution and advancement of your race which is then reflected into the first section. Meanwhile, at a later point in human evolution, your DNA can store into a third section where it can store nearly anything at a near infinite capacity. It still not completely understood how the third section works or what it's true purpose is, however, it was only us humans who had been able to develop the third section.

Just think of it that the Oriru Serku tolerates humans just because we are useful to them. Otherwise, their ego can go up and disregard our value and potential.

Interesting final statement there... XD

EDIT: It just hit me that the Hovago wasn't part of the founding ancient races of Oriru Serku. I wonder if what Winston said regarding self-preservation is the Hovago's only reason for contacting Oriru Serku and becoming involved with the Jhuku.
*insert Mass Effect's Reaper race speculation*

Well guys. Here it is. A final puzzle. Email from Winston...
Quote:
Well, I just had to wait before I had to send you off to do this one last task.

You see, for the Jhuku to be sent to Hovago, we need to contact the Oriru Serku. Unfortunately, the line is till down. It will come up sooner or later, we can wait. However, the Hovago requires a puzzle to be solved so that they can guarantee we are the correct people. I am unaware if Oriru Serku has already solve dthe puzzle, however, on their last transmission they said they haven't figured a way to solve the puzzle, yet.

They have sent me over the puzzle and I have placed the puzzle at

www.oriruserku.org/sakolu

which I myself haven't figured out, yet. Additionally, the Oriru Serku were instructed by the Hovago that the only ones possible to selve this are the old humans whom no strain of advanced DNA has still developed. They say it is a simple puzzle for the simple mind, however, of course, we from the future are no longer "simple" minded. Thus, I seek your assiatnce in cracking this puzzle. I am unaware of what the final result will be, but it should be something simple, and yet clever.

And going to the puzzle...
Code:
#############
# 1 23 90 5 #
# 9 41 10 5 #
# 7 71 13 7 #
# 3 11 15 3 #
#############
ONE TO THIS
UP CLOUD NINE
TOP TOP THEN
YOU AND SIGN
COUNT DO THEN
MAKE A LINE

*sighs* Well everybody. One last time. What does everyone think?

Wait a sec... But the catastrophe hasn't developed, has it? So what purpose is the Jhuku serving now if he hasn't recorded anything about the occurance of the catastrophe?

Also, regarding the puzzle, I was thinking about anagrams, but so far I haven't gotten any results... anyone?

I tried reading the words in different orders. Reading down the first and last columns saw some interesting patterns, but nothing truly definitive.

I do find it interesting that the last column reads "this nine then sign then line"
It rhymes and is somewhat coherent. Almost sounds like instructions.

I agree with duke9509 that the words look like instructions; maybe what to do with that number box? With consecutive TOP as well as the mention of simple and clever, I was considering wordplay.

I was thinking his purpose is just to hold information until the races in the universe are technologically advanced enough to realize the existence of a catastrophe and act upon it. The Jhuku being sent back into time could be like insurance that the races have the info and can do more at an earlier time compared to before the time when the Jhuku existed. (Although if this is the case, does the very existence of the Jhuku play a role in whatever mistake that persists from the second cycle?)

I'm not sure though since that makes the current future with this Oriru Serku and all the other races defunct. (I have no idea how the time-stuff works in their universe. XD)

I shown this friends of mine, and one said the 1s in the middle columns seem to make a line, which points up to nine... Which is like what one line says "up cloud nine" and "make a line" and "one to then"

That's as far as to what I/we have.... Still nothing on what the answer could be...

Anyhow, it's been a while since I checked here, and I almost missed the ending! Which apparently is not yet happening...
