It sounds kind of stupid but in a pinch you can use those fabric covers for school books. That's what I started with and the effect isn't too bad as long as you fasten down the creases and lumps and such.

Despite how utterly horrifying the rake is, I think he's a little harder to make a series off of. That and he's just not quite as mysterious as dear old slendy.

He's also more animalistic, if not entirely an animal with a vaguely human appearance. So it's hard to build around a creature that functions like a rampaging bear most of the time.

Then again, not many people have actually bothered to keep building on his myth, at least not that I can see. People could probably do something with it and develop it.

I think if someone tried they could pull it off, but it would be a challenge for sure.

this has probably been said before, but from a creator's view, i would say the reason for the lack of rake content is purely creative license.
while the rake can be just as simple as the slenderman to film, as it does not require any expensive make up effects, as long as you are good with that.
But EMH did it first, they were the first to link two seperate creepypastas, and to use the rake would almost feel like stealing the idea.
creator's are always trying to bring new effects, techniques and threats to a series without drawing too much on other ideas. to simply lift one character from EMH and use it in your own series would take alot of balls, and it is a gamble. some will accuse you of stealing, while others might just be happy with the added content.
its the same thing as changing the slenderman mythos. it is acceptable for MH, TT and EMH to alter the way slenderman operates and works, because they are the fore runners for the mythos, and they are the leaders, whereas a smaller slendervlog would be hard pushed to change the slenderman in any significant way as they would either be slammed or ignored.

Probably a mix of things. There's just so much that can go wrong with having a B/Vlog dedicated to the Rake alone. You've got your makeup issues, you've got your story issues (Why is it stalking your crew?), and it's far easier to go into stereotypical monster movie territory.

Not to mention that, well, it's pretty much a wild animal. Hard to form a coherent plot about it.

The rake is such a hard thing to make a whole series about (as previously stated). What is the plot in that? Due to the animalistic nature of the beast, it is hard to give it the omipotent view that many people feel Slenderman has. Therefore it makes it hard to pinpoint why it is doing what it does. Although if anyone could think of a good plot for the rake, that has it stand alone, I encourage them to act on it. I'd like to see how that goes.

Interestingly I think everyone is confusing EMH's Rake with the Rake from the original creepypasta. Consider:

"We shall not return here again at the request of the Rake."
"I have prayed for you. He spoke your name."
"There were, however, many instances where the creature's visit was one of a series of visits with the same person. "
"Once again I awoke and heard his voice, and looked into his eyes."

These all paint the image, to me, of a super-natural stalker, someone who has a reason for watching you, who returns to the same bedside again and again before actually attacking, who knows something about you that you yourself do not. Plus the ship's captain won't return after the Rake's "request?" There is intelligence behind a request, not just savagery. I think there is a Moth-man quality to the original material that EMH glossed over. Why is it such a terrible thing that it spoke a name? What does that imply?

I keep thinking back to what might have been a local legend when I was growing up. We had these things called "writing spiders" huge spiders that had a very thick zig-zaggy thing in the middle of their webs that looked like writing sort of. All the kids knew that if you said a name near one of those spiders and they wrote the name in their web then that person would soon die. It was the height of bravery to say your own name near one of those webs, and the most shocking rumor if you heard that someone had told the spider someone else's name.

Take that... twist it up.. turn it into the Rake... and you've got yourself a series.
