I know, I know. But Phaedra/Kali (or Kali/Phaedra) would look awfully cool on a lawn sign, don't you think?

Hey Kali, we should run for something under our pseudonyms!

*bump* Only a day left to vote... unlike the "real" elections, you can go until at least midnight Nov. 3 on this one. Cast your vote, beekeeper!

I knew we could do it!!!!

I'd like to thank my great team and all those who voted for us, it was a great distraction during the down times between puzzles and answering phones.

We came out ahead of many admirable, worthy opponents. They waged one tough campaign, I hope they are proud of the effort they put in. They should be. Wink Sound familiar? Wink

I promise to lead as I have lead, following Melissa's directions to the letter Wink

Wait, weephun only got a plurality, not a majority. Doesn't there have to be a runoff?

And what about the overseas absentee ballots that were mailed on time but haven't been receieved and counted yet?

Not in INTERNET WORLD! Although you could argue that the Durga/Jersey ticket won, if you combine their vote counts.

If you're voting absentee for an online poll, you deserve to get shut out Wink

[SPEC] Election fraud conspiracy!

This all seems very fishy.

Let's look at the FACTS:

FACT 1: This message board uses software known as phpBB.

FACT 2: This phpBB software is reasonsible for tabulating and displaying the results of this poll.

FACT 3: The phpBB software (and the associated voting routines) is published by a wholy-controlled subsidary of Diebold, the company that made the black-box voting machines that caused so much controvery leading up to the November 2 elections.

FACT 4: According to an anonymous but reliable source, Unfiction.com's decision to use Diebold's phpBB software for its message board wasn't based wholy on the merits of the software. The decision was made by an undocumented and clandestine advisory committee. Who chaired that committee? Lt Weephun.

FACT 5: Winning the Unfiction contract earned Diebold a lot of money.

FACT 6: Candidate Lt Weephun recently collected a large sum of money through an online donation program.

FACT 7: If you do your research, you will discover that several of the high-dollar donors to Weephun's fund were actually Diebold executives, and several others were contractors with the agency that does political lobbying for Diebold.

FACT 8: Diebold's phpBB software tallied the votes and declared Weephun the winner.

SUMMARY: Lt Weephun was directly responsible for Unfiction's adoption of Diebold's phpBB software. This benefited Diebold tremendously. Diebold donated money to Candidate Lt Weephun through a fund set up for him in the final days of the campaign. At the end of the election Diebold's phpBB software declared Weephun to be the winner of the election!

CONCLUSION: Weephun struck a secret deal with Diebold. He promised to win them the lucrative Unfiction contract, and in exchange they promised to funnel a "cut" of the profits to his campaign and to deliver an electoral victory to him by providing Unfiction with a rigged version of phpBB carefully pre-programmed to guarantee a Weephun victory.

That should be pretty obvious. But is that all there is to it? Maybe not.

A POSSIBLE DEEPER CONSPIRACY: Isn't it a coincidence that a donation fund was set up for Weephun just days before the end of the election, when Diebold needed to fulfill its promise to covertly deliver the agreed-upon payment to Weephun? Maybe it wasn't a coincidence at all. The donation campaign itself comes up clean if you look into its origins, but what if events were intentionally engineered by the conspirators to bring about a situation where a donation fund for Weephun would be neccessary? The "live training exercises", and possibly all of ilovebees, could've just been a massive conspiracy in order to fulfill the terms of Weephun's illegal agreement with Diebold. But is Diebold really as high as it goes? I doubt it. Who's pulling Diebold's strings in all this? We may have only just begun to scratch the surface of how deep the rabbit hole goes.
