Two points I'd like to throw out.

One: Is it just me, or does the black writing from the windshield say Alex at the front end? I imagine the rain on the windshield screwed the text up, so perhaps the writer meant for there to be a message but it was ruined. Just a point!

Two: When Vincent looks in his car mirror, there's a very pronounced black/white effect for me. The same kind of effect we had when we've seen them in that 'other place', and when they saw the Doctor in the storage unit.

Bear with me here, but...with the cyclical nature of things, perhaps this isn't the first time Vincent has been in this situation? The lack of beard may signal that at one time in a younger/less bearded incarnation, this exact same thing happened to him. The lack of beard is a 'reminder', which also causes him to flip out.

It would also explain the 'wrong turn', which I imagine to be Slender buggery. You remember after Evan was attacked in the Ashen Waste video they seemed unable to ever make it to a hospital, and it was dark/raining the whole time. The only way they made it home was after trying to run down what they assumed was Slender Man before being transported to the basement.

I'm fairly certain that Slenderman takes them quite often to this 'other world'. Wrong turns, never ending roads, strange happenings. Seems plausible to me, anyone else?

Edit: Also, House of Leaves. House of Leaves is HUGE on this alter-dimension business, which makes it ever more plausible to me.

I'm not normally into the really crazy theories, but I kinda like this one for some reason. Huge question, though. Why are they tormenting themselves? Why, after everything Jeff and Alex have been through together, would Rake/Jeff come back and abuse Alex?

Thats the one thing I haven't quite worked in yet. I mean Evan is obvious. He eventually goes made from the influence from HABIT. Slenderman seems to be protecting the boys and Vin does seem to try to protect the group. The rake is described is being "feral". Maybe Jeff becomes so traumatized that he completely loses his memories and sense of self and becomes the Rake. He probably has moments of lucidity which would explain the Rake's whispered warnings to Alex.. Jeff (as the Rake) becomes lucid for moments at a time, wants to protect Alex so he tells Alex whats is going to happen so Alex can prepare himself.

I also just want to add that Vinnie as Voyeur takes on a whole new meaning when you consider he might be Slenderman.

MATTWAN'S THEORY EXPANDED!

We were kind of batting this around in Angora. But I think Mattwan is right. Think about each time the guys have been teleported: Ashen Waste for example. They could very easily have died. Slenderman cleaned them up and put them back at home- a world slightly different. Even to a degree when they came back from the crawlspace/Baldpate and the crawlspace was gone. Maybe HABIT's involvement stems from one of these times, like A Day In the Life, like he was pulled out of the Candleverse on that day, and since then, all these hidden videos he's been sending us tend to show us events that the guys can't remember- times they were "reiterated". The guys end up in a different/parallel but slightly different dimension, but they can't remember what happened because they are in a different reality now. HABIT, like us, remains in the same reality and thus he can show us these videos. And when we tried to get the guys to see the videos, they regressed to a time when they lived with Corenthal, or there about.
Then when you come to the time before this started/2009-10, perhaps their 19 year old selves had been in the Candleverse, which stays the same while the world ages? Kind of like how in Minecraft, you go farther in the Nether than you do in the normal world. (Note, HABIT did make a Minecraft level encased in obsidian, which is what you use to make a portal to the Nether.) Maybe before, when they lived with Corenthal, his ability to somewhat domesticate HABIT within Evan stopped the cycle for awhile. They were able to grow up a little. Now they're stuck at 20?

I know this is all over the place. But it even kind of could work with Dinorobo's theory. If you think about "EverymanHYBRID"- "every man hybrid"? Every man is a hybrid of himself and his "monster"?

I HAVE NO IDEA. But I think Mattwan is onto something.

EDIT: Also, thinking about TT's slight involvement- didn't Observer call "FIREBRAND/HABIT" "the stubborn"? Could it be HABIT is the one causing the loop, and not Slenderman? Even though HABIT doesn't have that power, his involvement can be causing Slenderman to have to do it?

To follow up on "domesticating" Habit. What if Corenthal was somehow able to 'banish' Habit to the Candleverse the day he disappeared in Baldpate. And somehow, the guys released him back into play in ADITL. I'd have to check, but I think Habit hasn't accounted for himself in that time period

The talk of "black bile" reminded me of a lesson on Humorism theory from my psychology in literature class. Basically, the idea is that there are four fluids in the body (blood, black bile, yellow bile, and phlegm), and each one is associated with a certain personality trait. This was popular in Medieval times.

I looked into black bile a little bit more, and I found that it's associated with feelings of sadness and mourning (melancholy). That makes sense for this situation, but not necessarily for the other situations in which we've seen the black stuff. Also, according to Wikipedia, the modern classification of the personality traits that are linked to black bile is a "guardian" personality.
(link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humorism)

So, I'm a bit perplexed, because black bile seems to be perfectly matched to Jeff. He's always melancholy, and he's likely the Guardian in the Everyman myth. Maybe there's no connection and I'm just looking too far into this, but I'd like to see what everyone else thinks.

I was actually thinking about Humorism but then i went through the same mindset as you and, yeah, it really does not fit against vinnies personality.

The black bile theory fits well with MT4 Vinnie.

Oh, hey. A siren went off right as there was a crash in my closet. Slendy's here to drop off the Rake. Looks like I have to babysit again.

Ok slightly strange but can someone else re-watch Halloween Hangover? To me it sounds like there's a siren/horn-thingie that Jeff got from Alex right after Evan says "Connecting." I might be hearing things but if some one could take a look/listen. It might be connected, it might not and I could be hearing things.

Yep. I hear it too. Since that siren has been known to herald Slendy's presence, it makes the scene that follows a lot more interesting.

I was browsing the EMH Tvtropes page and came across this:
TVTropes wrote:
The blood that pours out of the bag in 'Joke's Over' looks too watery to be blood, and when Evan attacks Slender Man with the baseball bat he winds up with Blood from the Mouth. Now think back: some of the first few stories about Slender Man suggested that he could melt his victims into mist.

This makes the whole body in the bag thing a lot more disturbing.
I am really hope that Alex isn't dead. Sad

EDIT:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Also some jokingly mentioned that HABIT is the ghost of Billy Mayes.:"Think about it: Caps lock, Badass, big grin, No mention of a beard of power yet though."
HABIT STOLE VINCE"S BEARD!

Now the bag of human makes sense to me. Thank you! I was thinking too much on how a whole body would fit in one of those things.
And I think most of us feel the same way. I'm still holding out hope, although it might be kinder if he weren't coming back. Sad
