[Trailhead?] Baldur's Gate... Something? Hello everyone! Long time no see...
Anyway, I chanced across this and just had to post it here:
http://baldursgate.com/
I don't know if that's an official Bioware site; WHOIS is Domains by Proxy.
There's been a few updates as of late in the form of hidden remarks in the HTML. The latest batch if you read source is...
Top
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
-- February 28, 2012 -->
-- Shadowy Figure- Raise Dead : Infinity Engine -->
-- For years, I clung to the memory of it. Then the memory of the memory. -->
-- And then... it returned. Better than it was before. -->
Bottom
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
-- Love is a lie. Only hate endures. -->
(Modified slightly so it can display here)
Not to mention the page itself is somewhat cryptic.
There's a thread at Giant Bomb that shows some of the past updates:
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/general-discussion/30/is-there-something-going-on-with-baldursgatecom/532919/
Now I don't know if this has been mentioned, but site search comes up blank. Not to mention that I haven't posted here in three months...
Anyone?

Wayback Machine has the domain listed as far back as 2000, but apparently never an official site. As late as January 2010 it was a "domain for sale" page.
So there's no confirmation of authenticity. Take of it what you will.
And for those wondering, the Infinity Engine is Bioware's flagship engine that powered Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale II . It has since been replaced by the Aurora Engine, which powers Neverwinter Nights 2 .

GameBanshee has this to say (http://gamebanshee.com/news/107098-baldurs-gate-website-surfaces-announcement-coming-soon.html ):
Quote:
...former BioWare designer Trent Oster and his crew over at Beamdog are behind it...
Here's a Whois that supports that (well, the Trent Oster part at least): http://www.chromewhois.com/domain/baldursgate.com

WHOIS records can be faked and aren't verified... I've done that a dozen times myself.
But if Trent said that himself, OK then.

Looks like I've learned something new then ^_^
Regardless of what's up with the site, I'll be watching this.
EDIT: Found a tweet

Add to the top part of the source...
- Pore over the tapestries and works of art hanging from our walls if you wish, Child of Bhaal... perhaps you will find a clue. But patience, ah... patience would reveal it all. -
And at the bottom...
- As the silver moon waxes and wanes, so too does life. -
And latest tweet from @TrentOster
Apparently, owning a URL can start a lot of speculation. http://www.baldursgate.com #Baldursgate

I would only be skeptical because the server is a virtual host on an IP address which hosts 4573 Total Domains -- usually a sign of a low-budget indie project, but not impossible for this to be official and simply using GoDaddy hosting for convenience.

Trent Oster confirmed via a semi-vague but still clear enough to confirm tweet, that he does in fact own the domain.

If they are remaking BG I would be all in favor of that, I still have Tales of the Sword Coast on my hard drive as we speak.

Really... Will be watching (both because I was a fan of the original, and in case anything ARG-y develops, unlikely as it is).
