[META] Axon Removal I noticed that an axon in Wa. was removed even though it was answered last week. Has this happened in your area?
With there being an axon call every minute, are there useless or redundant axons that should be removed to make way for "submitted" ones? I know of one.
I formally submit this axon for immediate cancellation:
Stanwood, Wa. (48.242222 -122.364611)
No one has answered it for 3 weeks. I got it the first week and will not drive out to it again. The only other person who went to it, is not interested anymore.

...and this one.
Seattle, Wa. (47.615284 -122.314271)
Last week (10/12) this couldn't be answered because the receiver was broken. This week (10/19) the entire phone had been ripped out. I highly doubt that, in the neighborhood it's located, it will be replaced. In the odd chance that it is, who knows if it will have the same #?

axon is down, repeat, the axon is down It might be a good idea to email Melissa directly to inform her. My logic is that if that's the means by which new axons were submitted, it may also be a good means for requesting their removal. If you really want to go all out, you might want to provide her a visual confirmation that the axon has been 'compromised'.

Yep, just sent this off after speaking with a very unhappy applebees manager yesterday.
Quote:
Please remove the axon at 38.710534 -93.270202, there are no crewmembers nearby. The local civilian in charge has also threatened to remove the axon permanently if attempted contact to it does not cease. (aka the applebees manager is pissed).
Thanks

faulty phones In San Francisco, there is one broken phone and one nonexistent phone.
Please remove these two axons:
37.786575 -122.407958
37.791339 -122.399072
Another phone that is in a particularly remote location and isn't usually answered is:
37.797956 -122.407104
Other phones could be used twice, or bring back this axon:
37.793026 -122.3965 (the phone doesn't ring, but it works)
Oh, it helps to read the thread thoroughly. I will e mail this to Melissa and see if that proves effective.

Several weeks ago we lost an axon that had been found in DC (the one off 14th street). Otherwise we've been pretty stable on DC axons. Indeed the one in Manassas, that was only answered in week one and never again, still appears faithfully every week.

Hey! I received a reply to the email regarding missing/broken axons:
Melissa wrote:
Soldier,
Thank you for the updated intel.
I will attempt to verify the basis for these recommendations.
If I am successful, you can expect to see the suggested changes in the
final broadcast schedule.
Has anyone else heard back?

Haven't heard back and the applebees is on the list again this week.
Don't know what it takes to get a reply from Melissa. She seems to get all my emails (proof = SP passwords having to be changed 1st 2 weeks, reporters contacting me there), but refuses to reply to anything. ah well.

.... creepy timing, huh? .....
Nice to finally get a response though after all this time and emails.
"final broadcast schedule" seems to lend weight to the idea that recipe8 will be the last broadcast / tues of answering axons.

Or it could be referring to the final broadcast schedule for recipe7, since changes (albeit small ones) are always made between when she first puts up the axons and the final version on Tuesday.

axonation So, "final broadcast schedule" did mean recipe7.
The 3 axons I e mailed Melissa about have been removed, but not replaced by either the one I suggested she reinstate or doubling up on other axons. Oh well, at least the ones we are getting should all work now.
Did anyone else get axons removed or replaced?

we reported a busted axon (one that was called twice each week of course) to Melissa a couple weeks back. She took it off the list but didn't replace it with our suggested Pittsburgh ones.

Yep, you were right.
The applebees axon I submitted is no more (the manager will be happy).

On Friday, Wynn, our local axon poster up-per/all-around-awesome-guy, reported the above broken phone to Mel along with the suggestion that she replace it with one of our Rainier Company member's missing personal call. She gave the response that you all have posted and when the official list popped up she had taken his suggestion.
