I love the use of the old style in the video, its well done. I am losing the plot on that twitter code though. I can't tell what way its ciphered or what :o!

You are being asked to participate in a research project because you have expressed interest in participating in an online forum that is part of this study. If you are 18 years and older, in order to participate in this study you must first give your consent. If you are under 18 years of age you must also provide parental consent, as required by law. For parental consent, we follow the email consent mechanism laid out by the federal Child Online Privacy Protection Policy Act (COPPA). You will enter the email address for your parent or legal guardian and they will be contacted asking to provide consent (via email). Your parent or legal guardian will then be contacted again within five days to confirm their consent.

Why is this study being done?

The purpose of this study is to understand how users of an online game interact with the game itself and other users on the game forum.



What is involved in the study?

You will follow clues from advertisements to access a site, where you can read information and view puzzles and images. From there you may proceed to the forum. In the forum you will be free to discuss topics found on the main game site with other game users. After the conclusion of the game portion of the study, you will be emailed a voluntary short survey asking you questions about your background as well as questions about your experience with playing the game.



What about confidentiality?

All data from this study will be kept completely confidential. You are required to use a pseudonym as your Username on the forum. Prior to analyzing any data we will remove any identifying information such as your age, email address, location, and background that is collected when you create an account. After the study concludes your email account will be used to contact you with a link to a voluntary survey about your experience. This survey will be completely anonymous. You will not be asked to sign your name on any documents linking you to this research study.



What are the risks?

There are no major risks to participating in this study. However, you may be uncomfortable responding to or participating in any of the topics on the forum. There is possible loss of confidentiality if you comment with identifying information or post identifying information elsewhere online connecting you to your username. Research staff will review comments to remove identifying information from the forum as quickly as possible. You can choose not to participate in any discussion that makes you uncomfortable. Research staff will moderate the forum to ensure there is no inappropriate content or behaviour.



What are the benefits?

If you agree to take part in this study, there is no direct benefit to you, but the information you provide will help educators, physicians, and policy makers understand how online forums can be used to change knowledge and behavior around reproductive health.







What are the costs?

There are no costs to you for participating in this study. You be entered in a lottery for a $100 Amazon Gift Card for completing the post-study survey.



What are my rights as a participant?

Taking part in this study is voluntary. You may choose to stop participating at any time.
