Background animation...?

I've just been watching the progress so far, and thinking... but thought I'd jump in.. so, anyone have any thoughts on what's up with the background animation on the Weyland site? I think there might be something up.

Everything else is too clean, but once the spheres get to a certain point in the animation there's a multicolored glitch right before it's begins again. Some kind of hidden frequency maybe? There was a lot of that kind of stuff going on in 'Flynn Lives'... just a suggestion.

Did you just change the password each time or the callback too? They could have it setup to only allow single use callbacks.

Just the password. I don't really know much about databases or js. It was just a fun little waste of time for me.

Also, to RHT1, I posted this earlier about the background:

The background of weylandindustries.com has a bunch of black and white spheres moving left to right. I thought these could be either Morse code or binary but the ratio of white to black seems pretty high, so maybe not.

https://www.weylandindustries.com/img/wc_bg-spheres.jpg
This is also in the html for weylandindustries.com. It is probably used in case the video fails to display.

Is there some other kind of Semiotic Standard other than the one that appears in Alien, maybe there could be a clue there.

The above link has a bigger and clearer image of this:

Project Prometheus includes the symbols for Pressurized Area, and a reversed image of Airlock.

Looks like Orion has something to do with it:

Just a thought but the darker spheres could be a constellation of some sort.

23 spheres (small and big), 15 white, 8 black... No discernible shape whatsoever, but it's static.

Ok, been lurking around for a while so though I'd chip in!

I'm no further forward with the password, but searching for clues led me to:

http://www.theoi.com/Titan/TitanPrometheus.html

the bit that got my attention was:

Quote:
Then, when Zeus withheld fire, he (Prometheus) stole it from heaven and delivered it to mortal kind hidden inside a fennel-stalk. As punishment for these rebellious acts, Zeus ordered the creation of Pandora (the first woman) as a means to deliver misfortune into the house of man, or as a way to cheat mankind of the company of the good spirits

So basically, Pandora (she of the box) was created as punishment for Prometheus' actions; and in opening the box:

Quote:
Pandora then lifted the lid of the vessel in which the foresight of Prometheus had concealed all the evils which might torment mortals in life. Diseases and sufferings of every kind now issued forth, but deceitful hope alone remained behind

I've tried a few combinations around Pandora, Fennel, Zeus etc., but no joy - there's just so many possibilities of what the password could relate to!!!

This is my first shot at an ARG too. So, forgive me if this is stupid.

But, after staring at this for awhile. This looks like a match to me.

Thoughts?

I was wondering whether those 2 login pages are exactly the same, I saw someone dive in into the java script from the first url, but I don't have the knowledge to do the same for the second url (eridu), or interpret the code.

Was watching the David8 commercial again and noticed several blips and cracks occur in the soundtrack while Fassbender is speaking.

Had a go at analysing them but not my bag really, is there anyone out here good with sound/waveforms that can have a look? I counted at least 8 occurrences, the loudest couple happen around the 14/15 second mark.

Probable they're just recording glitches but seems out of step with the otherwise polish of the ad. Plus there's that Project Prometheus logo at the end.

Looking through the JS for the sharing stuff on projectprometheus.com I found this:

meta property="og:image" content="http://dev.evoke.la/var/Fox/Prometheus/projectprometheus/img/pp_sprite.gif"/

And if you visit http://dev.evoke.la/ -- it does seem to have a login of some sort and the word "Ferret" that mysteriously appears.
Ferret didn't work for me, though. Maybe it is just the company running this thing?

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I hope I can be of some help in this ARG Smile

Initially I saw this page but thought it was just a DEV version of the website as if you went to http://dev.evoke.la/var/Fox/Prometheus/projectprometheus there was a carbon copy of the login screen we have all been frantically trying to get into.

However, now that link is dead as they have obviously removed it/moved it to a different server location.

I then looked at the route page at http://dev.evoke.la and saw the, above reported, login page.

I was suspicious at the fact that the page was so minimal and looked as though it was thrown together by my 9 year old. Also the ferret image further increased my suspicions as ferrets tend to dig around and hunt for rabbits.

So I decided to do some ferreting of my own.

When I looked at the page source I found an email link despite there being no visible email link on the page and the code was as follows:

Code:
mailto:info@evoke.la?subject= REQUEST FOR FURITTUS.

"Request for the ferret" being the title of the email there is no link to send? Seems ominous.

I went and sent an email and will get back to you if/when I get a response (also tried FURITTUS, Furritus and furritus for the Prometheus Database Password but no luck).

Also, something that may or may not be of interest - when you go to http://evoke.la there is an empty page named "TakeoverMockup" that currently only contains a blank flash file.

Maybe something for the future?

Anyway, I have wasted enough time on something that may not even be relevant and so I'll go just now.

Cheers all...

Draven out...

Think dev.evoke.la may be some sort of hosting site - a quick google search returned http://www.evoke.la/settings.xml as the first result; there are lists of loads of different movies and what looks like links to tie-in games, images etc; but at at the very bottom:

Re: Email...

I originally found this http://dev.evoke.la/ yesterday along with the hidden email. You could actually find it without looking at any of the source. By moving the mouse around it would highlight all of a sudden but that's changed now. Anyway I originally wrote it off as a page we weren't supposed to get to, but went back to it cause it seemed suspicious. If you take "Big things have small beginnings" it would make sense in the way that a Ferret is small. A ferret is also known as "little thief" which is what prometheus is. I already tried a bunch of passwords that had to do with Ferret/Ferritus and thief stuff. Anyway just figured I'd share that.
