Quote:
Scott initially sought to produce the prequel in two parts and in 3D. He also anticipated having former commercial director Carl Erik Rinsch direct it, but 20th Century Fox, which owns the Alien franchise rights, wanted Scott to be the director.[48] By July 2009, Scott was attached to direct the film. Screenwriter Jon Spaihts had pitched to Fox his approach to the prequel. The studio and Scott liked the pitch and hired Spaihts to write the screenplay.[49] Lindelof was later hired to revise Spaihts's screenplay.[50] In October 2010, Lindelof submitted the revised screenplay to 20th Century Fox. The studio was pleased because it had contested Scott's proposed budget of $150–160 million and found Lindelof's screenplay to be more budget-conscious; Scott had initially requested a $250 million budget along with an R rating, but 20th Century Fox was reluctant to invest so much money in a film that was not PG-13.[51]

Fox is here to blame for this *shakes fist*

I have a feeling the recent disappearances/fix-ups/work in progress stuff on the site is probably them tying to fix stuff up for the next age of the viral...

Re: Back the background, on the Investor page...

Hey again...

So, I think the background sequence with the spheres on the Investors page has a morse signal in it too, as some have already speculated.

Not sure if everyone can see it depending on your screen and/or browser, but over on the left side of the screen just above the middle of the window there's a faint blue flashing light (that it looks like extends out like a horizon across the background as well actually) and it seems as though the morse/flashing sequence starts over when the 'glitch' happens, restarting the spheres.

I can't read morse code, but whoever worked that out last time... can you take a look?

Also, the star pattern is in the background in the middle of the same page moving left to right as dark smaller spheres way in the back, as someone else pointed out. I just wanted to mention that I noticed that as well to second the notion.

So this doesn't get lost, I'll quote myself and add that it's definitely a morse code on the Investor page off to the left, light blue flashes, fourth square down from the top on the grid (thank you to whoever mentioned the grid earlier). Maybe they're waiting for us to decipher the flashes/morse...?

Yes, just downloaded the spheres video and there is a blue flashing light to the left. I'll play around with the contrast to make it stand out...and it is (the video) definitely different from the one they had before...

Also the background video name on the site has been changed from spheres.mp4 to wc_spheres.mp4...

This newer one is identical to the old one except it's a bit darker and highlights the blue flashing light on the left...

IIRC, the video has always been called wc_spheres, but it does seem to have been speeded up slightly since the site first opened. I can't personally see the flashy lights (that may be 'coz I'm colour-blind!!), but they hid a clue in flashing morse before, so its a possibility!

I uploaded a colour corrected close-up highlighting the flashing light above. Smile

It's certainly been called "wc_" for a good while as confirmed by your post at the bottom of page 39 on the 21st March. Additionally the blue flash looks the same to me as it did when I mentioned it back on the 22nd (page 63).

If it is morse code it's quite difficult to make out.

It isn't obvious what is a dash and what is a dot and seemingly no gaps between letters.

I'll keep looking but so far I have made the first letter B, C and G

I thought it looked like it had more to do with waveforms than anything else. Anone know how to turn something like that into sound?
