I didn't see the movie when it first came out, I wouldn't have been old enough to understand it, BUT my parents, and my grandparents, were deep in CB culture so I was obsessed with it. (handle: Thunder Lizard) Convoy, Smokey and the Bandit, BJ and the Bear... Phantom 309, Teddy Bear, Roll on Big Mama, I WORE OUT some Red Sovine albums... This stuff was my childhood!

I'm so glad you're both here, because for once, one night only, I am not that fucking old.

Convoy is one of those weird-ass late Peckinpahs I have yet to see. I think it's still on Netflix Instant. I saw The Osterman Weekend where John Hurt taunts Rutger Hauer from inside his kitchen TV, and Meg Foster kills people with a spear gun in her backyard pool. That was fun. What's EverymanHYBRID?

Tomorrow's my birthday, so it's the week of reminding me how old I am. Laughing

Don't know how old you are--but I always figured I was probably the oldest on these forums, and if not THE oldest--among the few. (I'm 46)

And happy birthday to you
Child of Atom and many happy returns! Every time I see your screen name it reminds me of the beginning of a song by "Carnivore" from the 80's (RIP Pete Steele Sad ) that starts out with the lyrics "Greetings and felicitations,Children of Technology"!

Ehh, I wouldn't say that. There's parts of MH that are much more sophisticated... the best part of EMH is probably the acting, but it often borders on gimmicky.

Also, there's not much in terms of editing for content... it's a bit of a witch's brew.

You're obviously just watching the videos...there is so much more to EMH than what's on their youtube channel...

I've seen the twitter and the "hidden videos" and the HABIT thing. Also the boxes and whatnot. That's what is a bit gimmicky for me.

I dunno, the whole HABIT/Slender/Rake combo thing just doesn't work for me 100%. I like it to be a bit more focused.

Don't get me wrong, I love EverymanHYBRID! but I think that MH is equally good in it's own way.

I don't understand what's gimmicky about an ARG having ARG elements? O_o

i think it's not those elements that make it gimmicky, but the aesthetic, maybe? i guess i'm sort of new to the ARG thing so I don't really get some of the points that make a great ARG great.

I feel like even with all the expanded elements, it still seems like the series is restricted to its own little universe and not branching the story out enough with the elements.

Although, it might be very difficult to really get any more involved.
