So after a month of running around we got an axon hot at the original freaking phone.

Me and Flidget Jerome hung out in Costa for a while but no other beekeepers showed up. Pretty short notice for anyone who wasn't in town already. We guarded the phone for the 20 minutes prior to time and only had to rebuff a couple of people. Phone went on time, Flidget answered and got Coral after trying with Reach. I took a couple of photos for posterity of our leet phone, then came home to find that it didn't make a difference whether this axon went hot or no.

I think this is the first non U.S phone to go hot thogh, so that's worth a certain amount of celebration. Razz

The call itself was from both Melissa and the Sleeping Princess, sometimes one was speaking, sometimes the other, and sometimes they spoke the same words at the same time. I almost had a heart attack when they asked me where they were born.

'Reach!'
*silence*
'Reach?'
*silence*
'Um. . .Coral?'

The main coordination thread is still giving out the answer as 'Reach' so I don't know what was up with that.

Reach is the answer. And by the way, Congradulations. Hopefully you'll be able to get a larger group together next week. Next week, and the week after.

Sweeeeet!

Good hunting, you two!

(Wonder if we can get Aliandial to change the thread title to UK or British axon hunters.)

For the Londoners, our axon is;

Quote:
51.5128, -000.132001
10:38 PDT

Which is 6:30 pm our time. Hopefully having more than 24 hours warning will mean a higher turn out this time.

Or actually, not. In my haste, I just saw some coords that looked like mine, but they were off enough to make them the Oxford ones. CURSES! This is the second time I've not been on the list; I've submitted a photo with the number of the box clearly listed.

Virtually no chance of being on the list for long enough to get a live call. Feeling very left out Sad

Hello, this is my first post here, but ive been reading for about a week or so. I am currently at university in Exeter and have a lot of free time on my hands. I am therefor interested in trying to set up an axon down here. Anyone else in the area interested? Also what would be the nest way of submitting an axon to mellisa. i also do not have a gps, any way i can get co ordinates trough another means. Cheers.

The way we did is by taking pictures of the phonebooth we wanted and sending them to danatwingSPLATgmail.com. It's important to be able to prove that the phonebooth has the address and number you say it does, so it's handy that all BT phones have a little card inside listing those things. Make sure to get a picture of that.

For the GPS coordinates, just dump the address of the phonebooth you picked into mapquest and it should spit out the coordinates for you.

hey guys long time no speak
sorry i haven't written for so long but my dads a right arse hole and suspended my net access for three weeks!!!!
well done for (finally) getting the axon in picadilly, hope you batted away some public people for me.
It looks as though the next axon is on the end of Dean Street Closest to Shaftsbury avenue although i can't remember if i've been down there before or not (after the last time i came hunting with you guys, i know that area quite well!!!!!!!!) looking at the map i think it's near china town so it should be easy to find.
think i might come with you guys tomorrow as i'm on half term and if you can't go meet up with random people to talk to freaky A.I. programs, what do you do with a week off?
so, can we decide a meet up point and time please?
Razz

It's the location of the first axon, and yeah, you've got the address right. I'm going to be grabbing dinner and doing some emergency shopping for art supplies before I get there, but I'll be at the axon point itself by 6:10 pm.

Hi guys, I'm coming to the axon today, I'll start lurking at 6ish so long as it isn't raining, otherwise I'll hide in the coffee house and hope the adverse conditions keep civilians away from the phone.

Is anyone going to be able to get the current code off the forums before coming out, or possibly someone who could relay it by mobile to the group in the field?
