[TRAILHEAD] The spectrographic enigma of Fez

Those who keep in tune with the independent game scene have most certainly heard of Fez, the perspective-bending platformer that has garnered much critical acclaim for its unorthodox design and curious puzzles.

One of the most-loved aspects of Fez is its soundtrack, created by chiptune/synth artist Disasterpeace. The music in the game won over many players and reviewers for its ability to amplify the game's immersive atmosphere. A few days ago, the soundtrack was released to the public to critical and commercial success. What most buyers came away with was a lovely addition to their game music selection, and that was enough for them. But for one buyer, that alone did not suffice. Perhaps inspired by Fez's philosophy of looking at things from a different perspective, he ran one of the songs through a spectrogram. Sure enough, this was the result:

The user that discovered this peculiarity went on to post his findings in a thread on GameFAQs. There, more users uncovered a variety of other images hidden in the soundtrack (viewable here and here) One of these images is a QR code which, when scanned, produces a list of dates.

The question I have is this: What does it all mean? Is this a hint to something larger than the game itself, or just a neat little Easter egg that bears no meaning other than being something cool to creep people out? I need your help, guys. I want to get to the bottom of this mystery.

Looks like a cool extension for the game. As for the particular images, I've perused the GF thread and looks like they have figured out what the source material is for most. I'd suggest that Fear is a Pigpen Cipher (which goes along with some of the other Freemason imagery).

Certainly looks similar, but I wouldn't think so. There's an ingame language spoken by some square folks that looks exactly the same as that. There's also a number system in the game that has some cryptic symbols for its digits, so the image in Fear may be a string of numbers.

I don't have a 360, so I looked up the alphabet/number-system for comparison.

*SPOILER LINK for anyone who has yet to translate them*
Here it is:

Which gives the numbers:

If the colors were inverted,
1 4
2 5
0 0

I'm not sure about how those numbers might be important, but maybe they're familiar to the rest of you guys?

FYI, another thread discussing Fez content in general here.

Perhaps we could a get a decent summary of the images/puzzles and solutions posted here for reference?

The image for Forgotten is possibly the number 6 in the D'ni alphabet.

It would (possibly) make sense, Fez is a puzzle game and the D'ni alphabet is from Myst, which is also a puzzle game.
