I also would like to say thank you to everyone here who has done so much to make this such an enjoyable experience. There is no one person I can thank for any of it though, because we would not be where we are if it weren't for teamwork and an overwhelming amount of respect and admiration of all the players we have here. It would have been a much different game without you guys, a much worse one, so thank you for giving me a couple of the most entertaining months of my life.

This is exactly what makes this community so great. The respect paid to absolute strangers is incredible. I've never met a single person on this forum, with the exception of discipleN2K (whom I now consider a wonderful friend), and yet I can think of few places where I have felt so much a part of a community.

The time spent solving puzzles, or chasing axons, or in my case helping others chase axons, is such a sacrifice. Yet, in my situation, it's been a sacrifice that has paid incredible dividends. I've met many people I consider friends, and to each of them I have to say thank you.

Thank you also to each and every one of you that has made this place a joy to visit. There has not been a day since this whole thing started that I haven't been in these forums reading what you all have to say. Thank you for your time and thoughts.

if this was a film, the credits screen would be endless

Thank you hollow.point for your recognition of everyone everywhere who's added to this experience be they lurker, axon hunter, picture take, puzzle solver, crew member, [META] or otherwise.

All the mushy outpour of emotion makes me want to give out my thanks as well. Smile Thank you all the people who make me laugh at how crazy this entire game is. (which is all of you of course! Wink )

It just sucks to think I won't see posting after the game is over. Crying or Very sad You all have given me lots of amusement and food for thought... Especially the PMs for making this. I hope they see how much we have enjoyed the game. I really hope they see it so they will possibly make another. *coughs*

Yes, untold tides of gratitude billow forth from the Justin (that's me Wink)!

I love posts like this, and the honesty of emotion is one of the many things that makes this community great. Just when i was starting to feel a bit down about the game (if anyone's been following my posts, i've been running a steady non-enhottenating record for the past two weeks Crying or Very sad) posts like this rejuvenate my spirit and reinvigorate my enthusiasm for the road trips and the beekeeping.
In short: rock on party peoples! Paper and scissors too!

Ditto to all the thanks given above and to who they were given to. Props to you all who've helped the PMs make this world real for all of us, and made the world of Halo that much more real.

Yrs.,

I would also like to thank (in addition to some of those allready mentioned) Robynn for his/her axon site (http://members.cox.net/katy-w/axons.htm).
I have sat and read through the wavs more at my soundless work pc than I have actually listened to the wavs at home.

and a big thanks to Shad0 who has done a huge amount.
the flea language thing for a start was fantastic.

Worshippy

i gotta say thank you to the whole community, i've never been on a more friendly, open, flame-free, intelligent, intellectual forum before. some of the philosophical posts made my head spin, but i enjoyed reading them.

I'd also like to say Thank You to all of those people who put in extra effort creating and hosting guides, wiki's, axon lists, custom software, cafepress stores(hehe) and any other resource, you guys really made this game happen. I'd list names, but i'm sure i'd miss one, so if you did anything like that, THANK YOU.

Can't wait to play Halo 2 online with everyone, and I can't wait to jump into another ARG with you guys when this one is done (i promised my fiance one-at-a-time Smile )

Thanks for the thanks, and you're welcome.

The bandwidth isn't actually that bad (at least, I haven't gotten any crap from my isp), although I've considered moving some of the old sets off the main page. Most people use yours, I think. Razz

Thanks to all...

I'd like to second...er...fortieth the thanks above. (Gosh, I'm feeling like the game is over already with all this thanking!)

Obviously, my thanks go out to everyone here for making ILB and the forum experience so amazing (and giving me a way to hold onto my sanity (or insanity, as the case may be) through a long dry spell at work.

First and foremost, of course, a huge thank you to the PMs. This is my first ARG, and probably my last unless they are doing another one. (I've been completely spoiled!) The level of brilliance, organization, creativity and dedication required to put (and hold) something like this together blows my mind.

Next, in no particular order:

Mazian, Trynian and t-toe for a warm and encouraging welcome, without which I might have ended up lurking for most of the game.

Nuriko for interesting posts, ideas and an entertaining anthropology discussion with Kali.

Everyone on the puzzle threads: when at work, I generally post on the fly, because I usually don't have long enough periods of time to focus all my attention on cracking a puzzle or doing a long, involved post. The amazing minds on the puzzle threads allow me to observe the solving in action by checking in every so often, and solve the puzzle *much* faster than I could by myself (if I *could* solve it alone, which is extremely doubtful). This allows me to feel involved in the process and is *so* exciting. You people rock.

Thebruce, for the amazing resources he provides.

Thebruce again, and SuperJerms, and daboking, for being the sort of amazing people that one rarely encounters: those who are secure enough in their faith to discuss it calmly; who to try to understand other viewpoints with compassion, patience, humility, and magnanimity; who are knowledgeable enough to teach me; and who reminded me that not all evangelical Christians are annoying.

Weephun, for playing the role of scapegoat with more grace than I would have.

pDK, for bravely going where none of us had gone before and volunteering a phone number to coordinate the relay.

Aliendial, Mad Cow, angelo, KirstenS, buzzkill, Lord Saryon, and everyone else who worked to coordinate the axon activities.

HitsHerMark for inspiring me by taking on a phone bully.

jellyfish_green, for giving me the most entertaining existential angst. Smile

vpisteve, for the amazing site and for wielding his kitten lasso gently.

The moderators, for general all-around awesomeness, and for turning a blind eye to a small thread that bore an increasingly remote resemblance to anything that could be called a topic.

All the people who didn't get upset when I got snippy, and the various people who gave me *way* more compliments than I deserve.

Son of a Beep, for going above and beyond the call of picture duty.

Kali, best friend and fearless partner in axon hunting.

If I've forgotten anyone, I'm sorry -- I've been adding people as they occur to me in between doing actual things at work, so this is haphazard and any exclusions were unintentional.

Love to all of you.

well with the new layout now, we both still have our strengths Smile mine's now organized by chapter in a scene-oriented layout, rather than clip by clip... <shrug>

ILB Awards

Maybe this is a good place to post this idea I've been kicking around:

THE ILOVEBEES AWARDS

A post-November 9th text-based award show, designed to recognize those whose performances over the past four months have been worth of such recognition.

Send me -- via pm only, please -- your ideas for categories. They can be game-related (such as "Best Performance by a Voice Actor" or "Funniest Hiro Line"), forum-related (such as "Most Ridiculous Spec" or "Hardest Working Axon Hunter"), meta-related (such as "Master Trout Ninja" or "Most Frustrating Puzzle" -- although I doubt there'd be more than one nominee in that category!), or anything else you can imagine. Do not send nominees at this time; categories only.

Next week, I'll post a list of the categories that received broad support. Then send me, via pm, your nominations for each category. The following week, I'll post the top five (or so) nominees in each category, and you pm me your votes -- after you're done playing Halo 2, so you'll have at least a couple of weeks to get around to it. The winners will be announced in a suitably gaudy presentation, and will receive this lovely statuette:

Or not. Mr. Green
