Look, I admit that Jay has been somewhat rash throughout the series, but at least we can say he is past that stage after the events of Season 2.

Sure he did go alone and after dark to the scary antique shop multiple times, and even broke in for no reason other than he saw Tim walking out of it, but I am sure he learned his lesson from that.

And OK, he did also go alone to confront a guy whom he last saw in a state of violent masked insanity, and made it his business to bug him into giving him tapes but I think we can draw a line after this in regards to idiocy.

There is just NO way he will go to that Hospital, either alone or in the company of aforementioned Crazy Masked Guy now he knows everything that went down there. This simply will not happen

Ehhhhhhh...While I see where you're coming from, I don't know about that. Tim is Jay's only ally right now, and I think Jay is eventually going to find himself in a position where he had to put his trust in him. I think Jay also suspects that Tim is innocent despite the latter's part-time insanity because he doesn't apparently remember anything. Plus, it's a possiblity Jay knows that Masky has actually been on his side the entire time; if he didn't suspect that solely from the videos, I'm sure twitter might have clued him in.

No, I mean "So, Jay's going to go to the abandoned building with Tim in Entry #57, then?" Razz

Because Jay is a derp, however much he appears to have learned. Wink

"So, Tim, I watched those tapes and saw a supernatural horror several times, and saw Alex hit you with a pipe/rebar/pointed stick at a burned down hospital. Want to go check it out?"
"Okay."

They arrive, Jay turns around, and sees Tim has put on his mask and the Slenderator has popped out from behind a column and shouted "Surprise!"

"This is completely unexpected! I thought this trip was going to be totally uneventful! I even made sure we went at night!"

Okay, maybe Jay has learned his lesson about going to scary places at night. Not that it helps him that much.

And I meant he is so unspeakably derp at this point he will not even wait for #57 to see whether going to a super scary abandoned place with an alarmingly high tenancy to be haunted by super stretchy child molester ghost thingies will have any negative repercussions the 17th time he does it. Razz

Meh, I just take that as being part of the suspense of the narrative with the break between uploads. Or maybe he needed time to process the fact that he'd seen a former friend attack someone and leave them for The Operator? I can't imagine it'd be that MUCH easier the second time....

I agree, going at night isn't exactly the best thing, but it IS a horror series and things aren't usually all that scary during the daytime. I just take it as part of the narrative. Anyway, how do we know he's going to go at night, anyway? Smile Scares work best in the darkness, where the presence of the threat is unknown, obscured, and even though you can have scares in the daytime to break the horror trope/demonstrate the power of the threat, you couldn't run a whole series like that, could you? It wouldn't be scary.

As for investigating the site, which I'm sure Jay will do eventurally - what else is Jay meant to do? He needs answers. Give up and wait for The Operator to come for him? That strikes me as more derpy, but that's my opinon Smile

Just had a thought while watching a Lovecraftian film...

Jay is nothing more than a continuation of the derpiness that affects all of Lovecraft's protagonists. They do many, many dumb things in the name of science/curiosity/. (Jumping onto the back of a monstrous beast because an Outer God told you it was a good idea, going right into an alien trap because your friend told you those aliens are *totally* nice and awesome and stuff, etc.)

So really, if Jay is derpy, it's because it's the example that's been set him. Wink
