The DC Reference Page has been updated. Note that the 17:30 (8:30 EST) axon is Connecticut and K (not Georgetown Cinema). As AlienDial mentioned, expect additional changes before and during Tuesday's calls.

Here are the obvious groups, post if you can make it to one or more axons:
Morning/Afternoon calls in SW: Mike_Was?
08:29 (11:29a EST) "12th and C (East)"
11:46 (2:46 EST) "12th and C (West)"

Morning calls on Mall: Mike_Was?
08:16 (11:16a EST) "14th and Constitution"
08:49 (11:49a EST) "Natural History"

Afternoon calls in northern VA: Mike_Was?
09:00 (12:00 EST) "Wendys"
09:10 (12:10 EST) "7-11"
10:12 (1:12 EST) "Spout Run"
10:42 (1:42 EST) "Spout Run"
12:10 (3:10 EST) "Ballston"

Afternoon Museum calls: Chappy
11:00 (2:00 EST) "Building Museum"
11:01 (2:01 EST) "National Gallery"
12:26 (3:26 EST) "13th and Jefferson Drive"

Union Station: INCyr?
15:07 (6:07 EST) "Union Station"
to
15:16 (6:16 EST) "Union Station"

Evening calls in South DC: Chappy
15:21 (6:21 EST) "Carousel"
15:37 (6:37 EST) "Smithsonian"
15:46 (6:46 EST) "Federal Center"

Evening calls in Georgetown: AlienDial
14:11 (5:11 EST) "Washington Harbor"
17:15 (8:15 EST) "Georgetown Cinema"
to
17:27 (8:27 EST) "Georgetown Cinema"

Evening calls in NW DC: ?
16:06 (7:06 EST) "Vermont Avenue"
17:18 (8:18 EST) "GW"
17:30 (8:30 EST) "Connecticut and K"

See the Reference page for maps and descriptions. If anything on that page is unclear, let me know and I'll clarify it.

Notes for Tuesday: Don't forget your personal calls if you're a member of the crew.

I'll be chillin' West Coast style for this round of axons. I'm hopefully going to team up with Lt. Bells and get a bunch of axons in LA on Tuesday.

Give Mel my best.

I can do the Georgetown Cinema calls, but won't go for the other evening NW calls on my own. Too late. And totally in conflict with the Georgetown calls. Well, maybe the one on Vermont is OK timewise and darkness-wise; we'll see where it ends up on the final list.

I may have a conflict for Washington Harbour - afternoon meeting. Don't know how long it will run. Maybe one of the GW gang could try for that one?

Hopefully Stephanie can keep getting the Wendy's call. I'd focus on Spout Run and Ballston in that group. But watch out for obscene phone calls on the Ballston phone.

Silver Spring Axon

I'm planning on making another try for the Silver Spring axon. Anybody else? If we had several people we could coordinate covering several candidate phones in the area. Also, is trying to create a new axon (as described in the fireflies guide) the only course of action available regarding that out of order phone that I found? Newbie out.

From the descriptions I'm not sure you're any closer to the "real" phone, assuming there ever was one there. Given the coordinates it is really unlikely to be at a completely different address or even across the street. And if you are submitting a new axon, find one that is convenient for you, near home or work so you can get it any time of day. No need to focus on whether you are also replacing a nonfunctional axon; just supply pictorial proof of another payphone that works.

Also, my axon list (previous page of thread) is fixed for now (thx Chappy), also removed distracting but fun references to international axons.

Sorry guys, I'm a no go for this week as well, seeing as I have a french exchange student with me for 10 days, and I don't think she'd like the idea of going down to G-town to answer pay phone calls.

Revised as of midnight:

Most of the afternoon axons are EARLIER by a minute or two. GW is gone. Just a bunch of Georgetown Cinema back to back (6!). Who will be joining me to help out?! Zombie? Secondrunner? Starcreator? airscottie? (Esp. since I may have very limited ability to catch up on any tasks before I have to head out for axons.)

Fair notice - I may not be able to check again tomorrow morning. Based on last week, this info could change again. So check recipe7 before you head out!

Dang - somehow this is not the right attachment. I can't fix now. So deleted. CHECK YOUR AXONS. Afternoon axons are slightly earlier; no apparent change from midnight.

WHo all is showing up to Union Station today?

I'm not, I have to study for my midterm tomorrow, as much as I'd love to. The time change really screws things up.

Also... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PM with your contact info if you're interested in doing poker this week! Right now as far as I can tell it's just me and Cortana, and that won't make much of a poker game.

Everyone seemed interested last week at union station...

All I can do is -maybe- Union Station. I'm going to see if I can work earlier hours today to hopefully give myself enough time to get there via Metro again.

We seem to be spread pretty thin this week. x_X

Now... about doing anything else, maybe call me and if you can give me good enough directions to get there (via Metro), I can see if I can make it over. But it has to be after Union Station; I'm not available before.

aliendial, I'll PM you my cell number. You'll probably have to leave a voicemail - I have no reception in any underground section of the Metro system and Union Station.

EDIT: Possible change of plans - I may look into driving into Union Station directly instead of taking Metro, which would free me up for driving to Georgetown Cinema. This is riskier, since I have not driven in DC before, so I'm not sure if this'll happen. But please call me (I hopefully get out of work at 5) and let me know anything that Mapquest can't tell me...

We're very thin. Melissa ignored my sugested changes this week (she actualy moved two of my axons to be simultaneous. Razz ) Looks like all the times are moved up by a minute after 11:45 (2:45 EST). Deleted one call from Union Station, added one to the Cinema. Both Spout Runs are still active this week.

Ugly decision time:

Union Station:
Can anyone commit to Union Station? If so, that will mean up to 10 hot axons. If it's just one person, don't bother listening to the recording, the calls come every minute. Once a call is hot, drop the reciever and move on. If the earlier patterns hold, the first one or two calls will go to the au bon pain phones; skip them if you're alone. The first call by the rental agencies will be on the leftmost phone block as you look at the vending machines. Next call will probably be in the next group to the right, and so on and so on until you reach the rightmost phone group. The calls then bounce around, but hang out on the right side, as that's more common. If nobody can commit to Union Station, I will skip the three in SW and go to the Station, since even alone I should get at least more than 3.

Georgetown Cinema:
Can anyone commit to the Cinema? If not, I will get those as well. Note that we almost got thrown out last time, so if Melissa or the SP wants a chant, it's got to be whispered around the receiver.

Museum Calls:
I'll get the Building Museum at 2 EST, but NOT the Gallery at 2 EST, because I killed my clone years ago when he slept with my girlfriend. I'll try for 13th and Jefferson at 3:25 EST, but the phone sucks.

All of the other morning and afternoon calls apear to be up for grabs, as well as the late evening calls in NW.

As I said, I will make my best effort to make it to Union Station. I just printed out 12 sheets worth of driving directions (work -> Union Station -> Georgetown Cinema -> home), but it all depends on traffic.

I'm not well briefed on how to respond to a live call, but I'll try my best. I'll also see about checking the forums and other places before I leave work.

Chappy, I PMed you my cell number. Driving/parking directions to both Union Station and Georgetown Cinema would be appreciated, as I only have Mapquest to go with at the moment.

I can do Georgetown Cinema, pretty sure. Earlier calls are all a no-go unless a miracle happens, so don't plan on me.

Here is the updated chart with the slightly revised times.

I'll TRY to get to union station. I had thought there would be more people there, so my missing them wouldn't matter. But if StarCreator is it, then I'll try my best to get there. I can study on the metro on the way home.

Can anyone help StarCreator with driving/parking instructions? I don't drive in the city, so I'm useless here.
