No, it could deter people because it makes it out to look like the vloggers don't care/hate/what have you the blogs. It's pissing off and hurting the bloggers that put their blood, sweat, and tears into their work and they feel like they're being attacked.

Bloggers are considering that what they do is worthless in the eyes of others because the vloggers are getting big heads and forcing a meme and a POOR joke :l

your opinion doesn't give you the right to obstruct what other people may or may not view as ARG entertainment. Don't like? = don't read.

I would say that Unique name and said conspirators of trolldom (or forced memedom, as it were) acquitted themselves very well and in a very gentlemanly manner. Any following butthurtedness or rustling of said jimmies should be attributed and counted against said parties afterwards; post haste.

Also cougardraven, excellent moderation sir, simply elegant and so very well worded. Really. Confused

I wouldn't go that far, Chase. As the guy who wrote Observe and Terminate, I took a lot of flak way back in the day from people who weren't willing to go ahead and speak without being anonymous, so I understand that a lot of blogs probably get similar, if not worse, flak, but it's still just random guys on the internet being jerkasses. No need to get upset, but don't actually retaliate somehow. Get what I'm saying? Trollface at their complaints and resume writing on-schedule.

 		TL;DR:

Esoteric trolling gone sour. The level of butthurt began to outweigh the level of lulz, so the amount of drama was multiplied. Completely facetious trolling was taken overly seriously by everyone not in the know, and everyone reacted wrong. It's way too silly of an issue to be taken seriously, and shame on both sides for being excessively trivial and frivolous about the whole situation.

It's just that, y'know, this topic was, originally, about how to bridge the gap between vlogs and blogs, not to troll and get into a fight about something that wasn't implied but someone took this as a "BLOGER R BETTER, DUN WATHC VLOGS >:C" thread, which was never Andy's intention.

I'm not mad over this, not by a long shot. But, since it's not on topic, it would be better to move some of the comments not relating to the thread over to the troll thread, especially if the are trolling comments :l

Also, it's not a good thing to force a meme when the inside joke could be misconstrued and taken the wrong way. I understand people wanna have fun, but the bloggers are always the butt of the joke and this didn't make the bloggers feel any better, joke or not :/ People have different views and humor and you gotta respect that some people aren't going to get that this was a joke and take it seriously :/

No content? Don't post. My opinion that the trolling posts are worthless is valid, especially when you consider that trolling is prohibited by the Terms of Service.

Posting meme pictures isn't "ARG entertainment", it's people getting their kicks on the forum, and while I don't have any real problem with it, it's against the rules.

So I'll go ahead and say it here: knock it the fuck off. You've all got places, I'm sure, where you can post the memes. Go do it. Make a thread specifically for it, if you feel like it. I'm sure there are one or two out there if you don't. But stop posting it here, where it's offtopic and derailing. I won't lock the thread, but I will pull all the offending posts. Nothing personal intended, but I will enforce the rules of the forum.

I get the feeling this is sarcasm. You should know: I don't really give a fuck. You have a problem with my moderation? There's a little "PM" button on all of my posts you can use to talk to me about it. If you're not going to do that (or at least air your grievances in a way that actually says something), then quit yer bitchin'. I don't have time for it.

 		Okay. Now that this has died down I'm splitting it off. What are our take-aways from this experience?

1: Satire on the internet is hard.
2: Not everyone here knows who everyone is.
3: Even if Google forgot it, "Don't be a dick" is still a good rule of thumb.
