It could be argued that Melissa seems alien because she doesn't understand concepts that WE find trivial, like Fast food. So the Flea is very single minded - it doesn't make him an enemy.

I just can't get behind the concept that he's there to hurt and/or destroy.

Consider that the flea is not designed for interaction.
He has no user interface per se. His current language is that of the SPDR which he is emulating.

The flea has been intent on attaching itself to the Princess. When the Princess is contained the Flea is apparently unaware of her location.

Since the Flea apparently has some sway over Melissa, it seems reasonable to expect that the Princess, out of desperation, might let the Flea attach itself to her.

We don't know if that could be an incredibly bad thing.

Wild spec...

What we decide is going to determine what happens to Durga at the critical moments before the artifact's detonation.

If the Queen and the Princess are reintegrated, Durga will hold out.

If the two are not reintegrated, Durga will go rampant.

If the Flea is attached to them, it will probably override Durga and prevent her from helping with the artifact.

Best solution is to get the Queen and the Princess back together, and get the Flea out of the picture. Is there any possible way to make the Queen aware of the Flea?

but see here's another spec - given Herzog's use of seek behold and reveal in one clip, what if the Flea is actually Herzog's attempt at getting the 'secret' information, the Truth, about the artifact by infecting a military AI? Maybe somehow Herzog got his little program somehow onto the Apocalypso before the crash? I dunno... just another way of looking at the odd Herzog/mantra situation... in which case, the Flea would be the thing we need to help, no? Confused
