Rock On Fuzzy! Waited awhile to see if you'de edit again your excellent post on the previous page but I gotta sleep & you likely wanna know:
The-Zone.zip solve
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
PW is: Component theory is the missing link of Earth's evolution.....opening the text file that reads:

The Zone - Nine year war fought against the Dern.

Location is underneath Dun Troddan in the north of Great Britain, entrance well hidden from locals. Although I
suppose if someone was purposefully looking for it, it wouldn't take them long. Bonnnybridge's UFOs are obviously
The Dern's manifestations in attempt to draw interest into the area. Whilst the riven is no more there still is a tenuous link between realities.

We have retained our harvest facility within the cavern, it also used for focusing the component field for obvious reasons. The increased pollution interference has a distinct effect upon the field.

Oh doy. Nice job once again, amandel! I kept sticking Earth's first subconsciously because it was capitalized.

Now here's the problem: I also have to go to sleep very soon, and I still can't make heads or tales of these images.

Here they are organized by the small image file names, as Wallace suggested:

...which is a complete mystery to me.

So, either someone else takes over and solves this very soon, or Wallace is able to figure it out, or the world ends.

...Goodnight...

EDIT: Two new posts that seem related.

First Wallace sent me an email:
Quote:
Not much time now, Foilhead says they are intending to fire sometime in the early hours Tuesday morning. Bob just rang me to say sorry but he had been caught up with some business, I have told him to pack for a couple of days trip. I have not told him where we are going I think the less people that know about it the better but I am going back to the mountain with Louise, Foilhead will wait for the code sequence from you unless you can get Tyrell to enter the sequence himself. If you do not get the code sequence then maybe I can still stop the firing.

At least we know where the Zone is now and hopefully Bill will be there also should we all survive this.

Perhaps the images need to be smaller.

And Samael Leamas on Facebook said:

Ever make a font really large, looks so weird. The end of the world is nigh, like a Timelord there are so many different versions of me.

So...what? We are supposed to enlarge the images? Or shrink them? I don't see anything out of place...

Coffee Searched online for that font with zero success. Wallace has made a detailed blog entry to wrap-up events marking the ARG's ending. Both the blogs & the Janus archive itself standing as an independent, non-game composition were interesting so it's easy to thank the PM for what must have been months of preparation.

Well done people this has to be a first, an ARG that completely destroys the universe you are playing in, it is fortunate my story is set in a multiverse.

Yes thank you all for playing, though I admit my 3rd ARG was not as good as the first two and my attempt to create a truly chaotic nature to the game somewhat blew up in my face. I think information overload was a definite problem too. The pacing of the story was very off too, my terrible spelling and misreading that book title for book codes, sorry about that indeed no excuse really just stupid mistakes on my part.

I needed to give the player some historical background for the storyline and the Janus Archive seemed to be the perfect solution, although less than week after I kicked off the game I saw several ways I could of done it better not mention making it easier to write and build. That's hindsight for you, you live and learn.

Thank you Fuzzy especially for keeping the light on, if only you had spoken to Wallace sooner then I expect the ending would of been quite a bit different. That's free will for you Wink

The font you are looking for can be found in Open Office 3.1 (Wingdings). There is second level of encoding so don't be surprised when it doesn't appear to make sense.

Hope you enjoyed the story, when I find time I'll update my wiki with the story so far.

And thank you for running this!

Although it did get pretty crazy at some points, its clear that you put a lot of time and energy into this, and overall, I had a good time. Many of the twists and turns were brilliantly devised, and I was really impressed by the massive scale of the archive, the blogs, and everything else. I just wish more people had been helping out. Maybe then we could have saved the world (or at least that one world) Very Happy

Out of curiosity, and I assume this will be explained in the blog post, but what in what direction was the alternate universe with the Baron and Jon going? Were we actually supposed to locate the 3 servants?

- Flattery will get you everywhere young man, a useful tool when it comes to courting Wink

I had use the Baron in the previous game Mr Kat is Dead and I had decided to include him again for the 5th Zone keys but when the game started to lag I figured you needed something extra, the servants were/are the Janus Guides they could of helped you avoid pitfalls I put in place like the eventual betrayal of Bob and also with some of the more difficult puzzles. Besides I was not expecting you to hand over any of the servants on a platter to the Baron. The Baron is a useful tool, I may have need of him again.

What is really ironic is that I didn't think any of the puzzles were particularly hard (except my riddles), next time I will have to go for hard instead Wink

I was however quite pleased that you worked out my riddles I was worried you wouldn't be able to work them out but obviously hard = easy when it comes my puzzles.

BTW, The History of the Runestaff by Michael Moorcock is a bloody good read if you are into scifi (I wouldn't define his world as freaky). He was the first author that I had read that really introduced me to alternate worlds.
