When a player doesn't post the trailhead?
It's been two weeks....

So, I've got an ARG I'm playing around with, and emailed the player the trailhead on the 1st, and he emailed me back on the 2nd. Now I've set up as much as I can with emails,(we've exchanged about fifty emails at this point) and my actors aren't willing to work for free unless I can show 'em that people will watch the videos and stuff. (I can't afford to pay anyone though. D: ) And, given the nature of the trailhead (someone emailing a wrong email address) I can't really just re-send it to someone unless they happen to have an email that matches the character's (which is also why I picked that specific player).

I've tried dropping hints, like "maybe it would be best to get more people involved, do you know anyone who might be willing ot help with this...?" but at this point I'm pretty sure he's just ignoring me, since he's been replying to the other questions I'll ask in the same email, but hasn't posted a TH yet.

I'm really considering just sending him an OOG email like "Look, I worked hard on this game and hired actors and shit, now post the fucking trailhead already"

:/ Any ideas?

You are relying on a single outside person to be a pivotal character in your design, without their prior consent. (They might also mistakenly believe they are now part of the pre-launch behind-the-scenes PM team, and thus are reluctant to post the trailhead here. Maybe they posted someplace else?) I'm not sure this tactic has ever worked in the past, if it has ever been tried at all.

You need to invent that "someone", a pseudo-player you can control, with an email address that matches closely enough to get the ball rolling again. That "player" can then tweet or tumblr or contact Despoiler for you. *wink*

Well, Enter the Quest had a similar trailhead, just without the detail of it being a specific email address (and my player had posted their info on the interaction thread)

The sock pupet-ish idea makes sense. Hm, okay. I can try that.
