I don't even know what I'm looking at anymore.
The address to the Lincoln Memorial?
The second and Gettysburg address?
Nothing.
Most of my research is probably fruitless, too.
Meh.

Yeah I'm thinking along the same lines as you. I'm just not sure what I NEED TO DO with the possible key....
My brain hurts at this point so I'm finished trying for the evening....

SkelJelly, all your posts have been extremely uF helpful & insightful, incl. your info-dump post from yesterday. (hint )

I could just imagine it being something silly like Lincoln's Armchair or The Golden Hare Memorial. I am not a clever man.
But it's apparently something I've stated that my mind isn't connecting. Either that or I'm using the wrong kind of cipher. Thanks for the hint though.
I'll continue trying to crack it. If I'm not clever enough, I'm stubborn enough.

Congrats are in order to those who have entered in and solved it. May you continue being knowledgeable and important.
Edit: I just solved the cipher. It contains interesting information, to say the least.

An update from Pietro Radillo's FB:

Heat has fried my brain - 24 hours are required to rest and cool - apologies for slowing the pace briefly but awaiting an answer from one person before I can proceed... until then, a simple question: Would you have liked to know how you turned out now when you were younger [a child]? Answers to be put here or on twitter... Thank you.

I've a few things to post which I'll do ASAP. I've been keeping out of the current puzzles as real world malarkey will keep me on the sidelines for a while.

When I asked Pietro whom his favorite philosopher was he replied with Descartes's Dualism. This seems more relevant now rather than it being used as a hint towards the puzzle.
Here are some pages to read about, if you want:

I actually understand that clue now. But saying how would give the answer away. Just think of what you had to do to solve the puzzle and mix that together.

Quick chat with PR on facebook, removed the pointless chat:
Quote:
ME: What can you tell in advance for the next step, perhaps just a hint? Also I am curious as what your answer would be to your question?
PR: Ah good, a reflective practitioner...As to the next step - it will be to go from 2 to 8...
ME: Your question about giving the future to the past is this related to 'from 2 to 8', wild stab in the dark perhaps relating to 2am/pm to 8am/pm?
PR: Perhaps...Perhaps not... [ ]
ME: Sitting on the fence is what Gods do best

Pietro (Yesterday)
Glad. However, the solution has now been submitted - the answer will not be posted for a day though, to allow others to also try their hand, and to show me those who have determination [also to allow for 'seconds' - when rtanslated, you will see what I mean...]
I'm not a chess player, quite frankly I'm terrible at it, but I do like doing research. And, researching chess seconds,
Seconds are used in the context of a one-on-one match at classical time controls. Main functions:
1. Research opponent
2. Prepare opening repertoire
3. Adjournment analysis (no longer relevant to chess, but may be relevant to the arg): http://blog.chess.com/SonofPearl/the-lost-art-of-adjournments
It should also be noted that in classical time controls, there is a set time frame for each person to go. Which might explain why he is on shortly for some moments, and on longer for others.
