Looks interesting. Given the quality of the video and the fact that this actually has an ad on unforum (which I think is quite an awesome way of making a trailhead), this might be good.

I hope it starts soon though, I'm STILL waiting for Rachel's Walk.

That's what I got in the mail.

The first one is a Caesar cipher with a shift of 20 (I was lucky to think of it first), it reads Alexander Pichushkin. He is a serial killer, fairly famous in Russia (I'm actually in Moscow now and I heard about him before).

Quote:
Alexander Yuryevich "Sasha" Pichushkin (Russian: Алекса́ндр Ю́рьевич Пичу́шкин, born 9 April 1974 in Mytishchi, Moscow Oblast), also known as The Chessboard Killer and The Bitsa Park Maniac, is a Russian serial killer. He is believed to have killed at least 49 people and up to 61–63 people in southwest Moscow's Bitsa Park, where several of the victims' bodies were found.

Other than that, I'm not sure. The tinyurl is not working, "wrtoume" must be a cipher as well, but I've not tried it yet. Also, Dorothy? Mcdo/McDonald? Trio/triada? These all must mean something, but I'm too tired with all the insomnia.

I think you meant to post this in the Touch thread, where we just talked about all this Laughing

Oh well, this thread did feel strangely empty, didn't open that one. I think maybe we need a mod to merge them?

EDIT: Wait, wait, wait, you're wrong! I didn't subscribe to that Touch thing and they seem completely unrelated. There is some confusion because netsua98 left their email at both sites and assumed that the one he got was from the Touch one. So, no merging needed, this is the right thread, carry on.

Hey guys!

I haven't even been to the site yet, so I'm not sure I'll really be involved with this one, but I just wanted to point out that if you shift the end of the tinyurl link by the same amount as the first part, you get "cxzuask"

http://tinyurl.com/cxzuask leads to http://pastebin.com/yj9QTQkw, which reads:

Now let's pump it up a little bit ladies.

I assume that's related. Also, that Russian translates to "27 min. ago"

Actually, that's just a part of my gmail interface and is not related, sorry. Good job with the link though.

So, any takes on this new puzzle? I tried to work with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_serial_killers_by_number_of_victims but got nothing.

I don't think it's an actual email, we are rather supposed to replace the eleven "x"s with something else.

Okay, so 18 and 88 could be Nazi codes. 18 means Adolph Hitler (A = 1, H = 8 ) and 88 means "Heil Hitler" or at least HH.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but if you google "William Adolph", you'll get this: http://educate-yourself.org/lte/willaimcoates05oct11.shtml. William Coates was an old guy claimed by some to be Hitler.

HH could mean Heinrich Himmler and there is an (eponymous) autobiography by someone named Peter Longerich.

I can't make anything of of the initials (if they are initials, that is). I doubt it's an anagram (cam jack semen, acme jacks men Very Happy). Besides, there are 12 letters and 11 x'es in the email.
