Just throwing in my 2 cents -- Willie Pete could also refer to Peter William Sutcliffe, also known as the Yorkshire Ripper. Though he was active in the 1970s, and Jack the Ripper was in the 1880s, so that's just a guess. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yorkshire_Ripper

Potentially interesting.... Let's see!

My 2p Worth, it's all Ripper:

Taken from the forums at:
http://www.casebook.org/intro.html

Quote:
Willie "Pete" Kent definitely deserved better than the way they found him on that cold, gray day in February, 2003. Dumped in an alley on 1520 Eighth Street,in the Badlands, Pete was found with a rope around his neck, frozen and most definitely dead.
Along with the apparent garroting, Kent was "laid open like a frog in biology class". Throat slashed and with wounds that call to mind the Fiend of Whitechapel, his heart, his liver, and his kidney were missing. Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson was heard to say on television ,"Whoever did this, knew what they were doing.."

1888 of course being synonymous with the Ripper.

But he's also made connections with Ted Bundy and Alexander Yuryevich "Sasha" Pichushkin.

Possible inspiration for his work? Including Saucy Jack?

There now seems to be some distorted voice over the video on the site, Its hard to make out what it says.

I am not sure if it was there before but it is much more obvious that used to be if it was there

There is a small white envelope at the bottom-right of the screen, takes you to a pastebin that says this;

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Dear observer,

So you like serial killers? That's great, we do too… We just recently adopted one and helped him settle down.

But you know how kids are… they sometimes lack focus. To help ours, we asked this lovely murder investigator to try to stop him. Just to spice things up a little. But this puzzle and website were actually meant for her.

Now sadly, you stumbled upon our experimentation and distracted us.

As long as you don't interfere, there should be no consequence to your little trespassing. But let us be clear, there are things in this world that you are just not aware of. There are realities that, as puny civilian, you cannot even start to comprehend. Don't go down the road Dorothy, you could be in for a big surprise.

Now I have to go. Tomorrow we will have our first guest, visiting our prodigy! I am so excited…
In exchange for your obedience, I am willing to let you take a peak.

Bests,
Mr. Whitechapel

Hi, guys! You've found a lot of interesting stuff here. And, uh...I'm not quite sure if this is good or bad news, but I'm pretty sure this all ties in with a certain ad campaign that has been going a while:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
...a campaign for The Secret World, an upcoming computer game. See, there's a huge thread about the "Seals" on a TSW fansite. Today (June 1st, natch) Seal 2 was unlocked (and solved in about half an hour), and the "reward" led to...slaughterhouse666.com. (Also, Seal 2 contained the number "14"--if you put that in to the "video feed", you'll get a message revealing that it's tied in to TSW.) (Also also, here's another cool thing that was in Seal 2: http://pastebin.com/KDbj9ike )

But I think you guys are finding more stuff on this site than the other forum has. Surprised

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to spoiler that or not...I suppose erring on the side of caution...

Greetings, directed here from elsewhere, noted in the spoiler. Can't believe I've never heard of this site though, can't wait to start digging into stuff here, this ARG comes first however.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Quoted by ancalime:

Got a link here from the TSW forums. I can confirm the game's connection and would also state your introduction to the site as well is completely different than ours. If you'd like to see the TSW start of this ARG: http://secretwar.thesecretworld.com/

Just signed up and received the email. The pastebin address listed in the email itself takes you to this:

All your base are belong to us, Commodore 64

Key:
. AC-130
. Evelyn De Morgan
. Louis Antoine de Saint-Just
. 52.31, 13.24
. 50.7, 8.41

Just out of curiousity, I've been looking up the terms listed under "Key", and the first three have one thing in common-all of them have something to do with the phrase "Angel of Death."

I'm working on figuring out the whole thing. I'm new to this though, so help would be of the good! xD

*edit to add* Aaaaaaaaand, I see the TSW forumites have already figured that out. Drat, lol. -_-

I was excited to get back into ARG (the last one I did was the failed This Is My Milwaukee) but now that I find out this is part of an existing ARG I'm disappointed but some of the stuff I read from the TSW links makes me think this might be a bit of fun.

I do find it odd though that we were directed to Slaughter House through an advert while the TSW kids had to solve the puzzle to get the link. I wonder what the reasoning behind that was?

TSW's advertising overall has been rather non-standard. I'm actually quite happy for this revelation because our puzzle for today was solved by many within 30 minutes, this one's proving to be a bit more intriguing.

Crazy, I was just looking at TSW earlier this week, wondering how I hadn't seen much for what looks like a fairly elaborate ARG before now and was wondering how to get started.

Yup, just solved it, this information was already known, I guess it was for people who didn't solve the puzzle from the TSW seals.

Hint;

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's got something to do with serial killers
