Not to state the obvious, but constant exposure to the Operator does seem to take a significant toll on the mind. They may be so cracked that this is the only way they know how to communicate.

If that's the case, then Timnesia would pretty much indefinitely have to be real; in any other instance, he would be capable of acting normal despite being an active part of Totheark.

Just a thought. Perhaps TTA is cryptic because someone who's under the influence of the Operator is unlikely to decrypt it (constant headaches etc not conducive to cracking codes.) Perhaps the videos are meant for someone except the person being stalked. I don't think the theory makes much sense given the content, but if the early videos were for Alex's benefit if and only if he wasn't being stalked then that might give us some more information.

eh, doubtful. some of the people who cracked the codes are far more gone mentally than anyone operator influenced :p

Now I want to see some fan art of Jay meeting the people who cracked the codes, and backing away from them slowly. XD

How can we be sure we aren't?

@Camero:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
unFiction and this forum are "Out of Game" sites. We're not affected by the Operator, because the Operator does not exist in our reality.

Marble Hornets is a fictional video series.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
and yet, is that true? Because people tweet to Jay and he tweets back. Some of those tweets are inspired by conversations here, so technically, isn't unFiction a part of the game?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The actual story is entirely planned out by the creators and is not influenced by the viewers at all. However, they do allow some interactivity on Twitter by occasionally having Jay reply to tweets. Also, sometimes Jay will say things on there that'll clear up unintentional confusions that viewers have with recent entries.

And just for the record, since nobody else seems to acknowledge it, but Marble Hornets is not an Alternate Reality Game. They've called it more of alternate-reality series. I believe they brought up this at GMX, but it could've been another public speaking that they had. Saw it on YouTube though.

Seriously, I'm not sure why no one else has noticed this in the 3 years that this forum has been hosted on unfiction. It is an awesome web series, but it's not an ARG. The story moves forward without our to do anything at all but watch. This isn't at all like the i heart bees ARG, or even the Haunted Majora's Mask ARG.

no

jays responses to peoples tweets don't affect the story one bit. if the twitter repsonses never existed nothing would change. there is no "game" - it's a story

Sometimes it seems like the Operator treats it like a game.

From the beginning this has been a game for us... but not anymore. It's a series. A loop if you will e.e

The game portion of this series was misplaced...or maybe it was taken.

@everyone: yes. I realize we don't affect the story in any major ways. But we, as people, personally interact with Jay. We alert him to totheark videos, and have many other interactions. I'm not trying to say the tweets have much impact behind them, but how can it possibly be argued that it's 'just a video series' in our universe when we interact with the characters in real time? Does anyone else see what I'm saying?
Sure, the story wouldn't be affected if the twitter didn't exist, but it DOES exist. It's kind of pointless to talk about if it didn't because that's not what has happened.
