I appreciate the words of encouragement Vortech, the last two weeks weren't quite the best. lol.

In any case, once again in a borrowed conveyance, to Dothan i will go!

Edit: I just got back awhile ago. Other than the half-dozen helicopters buzzing Highway 231, everything was perfectly normal. Recorded call; bee/bees worked for me. I'm just glad to have had a sucessful trip for once, LOL!

MoGA was 3/5 yet again.

JT and I were able to get the last 3 calls of the day, all of which were recorded. The file only required 4, and it was enhottenated Smile

JT's live call didn't fare well; he answered the question correctly but the Operator did not recognize it.

More next week --

No training for Atlanta

Likewise, I am disappointed that the nearest training location is so far from Atlanta. My hope is that there will be another set of training missions next week, Atlanta included.

Getting together in Atlanta

Team Double Barrel (RoboGRIFF and me) is based south of Macon. The Mall of Georgia is quite a haul from here. Could we maybe meet farther south? Somewhere downtown or midtown, perhaps? That said, I'll be in Atlanta for a Halloween party on Saturday, anyway. I think I can stay overnight to meet everyone on Sunday.

Plans for Chicago Exercise

Team Double Barrel (again: me/RoboGRIFF) have submitted a request to the Operator for the Chicago training exercise. We plan to fly out of Atlanta. AirTran has a round trip fare on Nov. 4th for $168 (up to $200 with taxes?). Admission begins at 6:45PM Chicago local time. These are the departing flights:

Thu, 04 Nov 04

Flight 830
3:55 pm depart Atlanta, GA (ATL)
4:52 pm arrive Chicago, IL - Midway (MDW)

Flight 28
5:35 pm depart Atlanta, GA (ATL)
6:38 pm arrive Chicago, IL - Midway (MDW)

The exercise will be over at 12:00am, Chicago local time. The first available return flight after that:

Fri, 05 Nov 04

Flight 421
5:35 am depart Chicago, IL - Midway (MDW)
8:25 am arrive Atlanta, GA (ATL)

Flight 823
8:00 am depart Chicago, IL - Midway (MDW)
10:53 am arrive Atlanta, GA (ATL)

This tickets are nonrefundable, and we have not yet made reservations. We may find better times/prices yet. However, this is a start for anyone else who wants to go.

Cross post link to Transportation for Chicago exercise

RoboGRIFF and I have a car reserved at the Midway airport for 5:00pm (Chicago local time), to be returned around 5:00am Friday. It's a full size car, so we have some room for passengers. Anyone interested can kick in, say, $5 a head each way to defray the expense and be guaranteed transportation.

Though I am impressed by your conviction, I don't think I'll be able to join ya'll in Chicago.

Any other GA Beekeepers interested in meeting up somewhere?

Sunday meeting

As you can all see from the new recipe8 page, I'll have to be back in Macon on Sunday afternoon to answer the phone. We could possibly meet early on Sunday, but I would have to leave no later than, say, 1:30pm to get back to Macon in time, depending on where we met.

Hello

I am just saying hello, and that I will be venturing to the mall payphones on sunday to answer phones since my parents revoked the ability to go to Chicago on Thursday. Anything I should know about the area before I come?

I'll be hitting the MoGA on Sunday for axon calls. This is the last set, and therefore our last chance, so let's do it!

I've emailed JT and also my brother about Sunday's calls, so we should have MoGA covered. It wouldn't hurt to have extra hands, so if anyone is interested, come on by. I'll be coordinating the MoGA calls.

Heh. Which mall?

Anyway all the info you need should be in the Axon directory on the first page which I finally updated tonight (with the changes the night before lately I thought it was better to wait. - no. I'm lying. I'm just late. )

Speaking of which The Mount Bethel Axon that I uasually get is 5 minutes after the PMall calls end which means two things:
1. I can;t get it since I'll be at the mall ones.
2. it is likely not important for updating the soundfile

SO I would say best idea is for someone to help me at the mall. if someone signs up for that post the next step is the mount bethel post.

I think I can get from the mall to midtown in time.

Genie's got MoGO but could always use help, Macon has multiple calls (and more money then I do P) )

emphasis mine

Laughing I also am unhappy about the entire southeast getting shafted, but this at least made me chortle. I won't be making it, but i am glad that many will be, and i do hope those that go will bring back volumous details.

As for the Sunday axon extraviganza, i'm stoked. I'll once again be going it alone, so i hope Buzkill/Angelo will be able to coordinate everything effectively. They've done a great job in the past, but 40 calls at once? Sounds like a bit much for two persons, even very skilled ones. I'll be leaving for my Dothan axon (which'll ring 6 times) in... right about now! Laughing Good luck everyone!
