Great entry. It felt tense the whole way through. I loved loved loved how Tim got some serious development this time around, and coupled with his acting skills, we really got a good insight into Tim's character. We see a man recovered from being haunted by the Operator who had somehow recovered, just to be drawn back in by a clueless guy with a camera. This is good story-telling.

From here, Jay is on his own. Since Tim has no answers for him, Jay is probably going to search for Hoodie, probably at that building near the annex. I see Jay going into that maintenance tunnel pretty soon.

Wow, that was amazing! I'm glad they went this way, with Tim discovering the Youtube channel, but I do wish they'd at least mentioned the Operator. From what Tim said, I wonder if maybe he didn't watch every episode, but I do find it interesting that he blames Alex for everything (and now Jay, of course) and I don't blame him for wanting to just leave it alone and be normal.

What the hell are you talking about?

That was about as clichéd as finding flaming poop in your fridge.

Unless I am wildly misreading what Tim said, and I doubt that, this pretty much confirms my least favorite theory - the "Masky is Tim's dual personality" theory.

Multiple personalities are one of the most cop-outty of the cop-out devices in fiction.
But isn't it also possible that the memory just drops in and out and he acts accordingly? Like Jay jumping back on the boat everytime he finds the entries and begins to reconstruct the past, Jay with knowledge is not a different Jay than our loveable amnesiatic nitwit, but he can make more informed decisions and chose the next way to go more safely.

Lots of self-lampshading in this entry. My favorite bits:

Quote:
"In case something happens I want people to know!"

"Like who!? Who the hell is gonna care!?"

Guys, we need to send Jay lots of tweets telling him WE CARE.

Quote:
"Alex points a gun at you and your first instinct is to film it, you psychopath!?"

Quote:
"Who exactly is Jessica, huh? Somebody you met in a hotel once? Somebody you've spoken to for the grand total of TWICE!?"

And the one that takes the cake:

Quote:
"Maybe Alex isn't even the problem! Maybe you're the problem!"

Just like TTA and Alex said before. Holy shit if this actually turns out to be real.

Tim seems to imply that he once went into masky mode and didn't come out of it for a full three weeks. Why would that be? I thought he just slipped into masky at night.

This is now my new favorite entry. And Slendy wasn't even in it. Good on you, MH. Good on you.

Tim literally picked apart every flawed aspect of the series in a single entry: Jay's lack of doing ANYTHING for three years, the fact that all he does is film things rather than to actually DO anything about what's happening, and how he expects anyone to care if anything on record happens to anyone. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the last episode of Marble Hornets. It should be, anyway; if Tim were to pick me apart like that, I'd have put down my camera and just quit this investigation.

I couldn't agree more. I love how this entry made us question our main character. The first bit has J talking about how he's going to handle things. Looking back on that after hearing Tim, J really does sound like a jerk. He doesn't seem like someone trying to get help, he sounds like he's gone off the deep end or whatever.

Wow, this entry was very raw, emotionally. And while Tim makes some excellent points, he seems to forget some things, like

1) If not for Jay that wouldn't be a broken leg Tim woke up with but a good case of the deads.

2) Jay knows exactly what it feels like to wake up in a car miles from nowhere with no memory of how he got there. Don't know about the blood in the hair part though Very Happy

3) Um, why didn't he tell you, Tim? Did you miss all the times you attacked Jay on camera? Or the time you kidnapped him from his bed and placed him the same hallway as The Operator? I might be leery with my trust after that too.

4) Jay has done something. He attacked The Operator, the only character so far we have seen to do this. And that camera work is good for detection when memory wipes are common.

But that said I understand Tim's reaction entirely. And it's why I liked this entry so much, despite how uncomfortable it was. It should have been uncomfortable and awkward, this isn't exactly an easy thing to talk about. I think Tim will calm down eventually and come to Jay again, albeit grudgingly, because he is going to realize he can't run away from this. That it will just keep finding him until he puts a final stop to it.

Are you suggesting we turn Marble Hornets into a Care Bears movie??

Maybe I'm just a dick, but I wouldn't have been as meek as Jay was here. I would have mentioned that Tim as Masky inserted himself into the investigation when he fucking tackled me, and then watched me while I was sleeping in my own house in my own bed, and then - odds are - burned my goddamn apartment. I sure as hell wouldn't have just let him drive away.

Again, I understand Tim's anger, but in my view, he doesn't have a right to a calm life, when he's already inserted himself into Jay's.

Tim does make a reference to the Operator, at 3:35.

I don't know about you, but this entry made me feel sad as hell for both of them. Even if it IS fictional. Too bad I don't have a twitter, though. Sad

We should do this, see if we can get a response, maybe some heartfelt message about one thing or another

Seems like if Jay hadn't gotten involved then that scenario wouldn't have happened.

I'm surprised that no character has searched for MH sooner. [/spoiler]

I'm really starting to question Jay's involvement after this. I'm not saying he's the villain, but maybe there's something else to him that we -and no one else, except maybe Alex- don't know.

Cause Jay really stirred things up. What happened to Amy, Tim, Jessica and maybe Alex could've been avoided. But then why leave him the tapes in the first place?
