99.99% of people who follow the series don't rely on twitter, jay and troy know this and share the same mind, not a big deal

Maybe he isn't promoting the entry since he feels bad about recent events. Or it could be he just isn't eager for people to see a video entirely consisting of him being punched and stymied repeatedly.

Though I guess that raises the question why he posted Entry #59 in the first place. Maybe Jay really is out of control...

Well he tweeted that he was meeting Tim before they spoke. I guess that he had to post the video out of obligation, even if he didn't want to. After all, he couldn't really say "Oh...Tim just wanted to ask where I buy all my bitchin brown jackets." nobody would buy that Razz

why? most people subscribe to podcasts through itunes and don't feel like finding and downloading each episode manually

N00bing around.
It seems like there is not a lot of contact between J and his many followers 'round youtube and twitter. not private nor public exchange of information.

i wonder why. i mean - a lot of us are following his misadventures for a long time now and can offer quite a lot of ideas. maybe even do some research work for him if he asked us too.. and yet, this does not happen. did anybody try to contact him recently and got an answer? or maybe its inappropriate to interact with him directly nowadays (as opposed to S1, when it was not even confirmed this is an ARG).

also: after entry 59 i find it hard to understand how much of the RL internet exists inside MH. can J (or tim or whoever) read the unfiction forum or is it all OOG at this level? why cant they post here? (at least according to the new user instructions. no IC posting on unfuction).

can they see the wikidot site? i bet all of them can make a good use of the comprehensive timeline there!

to sum it up:
(1) how much can we interact, have agency, inside MH nowadays? is it even possible to influence the future of the arg in anyway that is not cosmetic? (a short exchange of tweets with no effect on the entries). it dosen't seem that J even know about the community's analysis of totheark videos...
(2) how much of the internet is included in MH? can we share a google-doc with J for example?

That's something I meant to bring up on the podcast last night, but kept forgetting.

It's interesting to think about. Tim apparently found the MH entries on YouTube, watched them, but....how does that exist in-universe? Does the MH channel have over 137,000 subscribers in-game? Does each entry get tens of thousands of views? Then your point, does this community exist in-game?

I tend to think that, in-game, the MH channel on YouTube is something that doesn't have very many subscribers, and entries don't get that many views. Either that or Tim just doesn't notice or care about that. I would use Alex's line of "sharing [the videos] with the world" as proof that the channel does get the same amount of attention OOG as IG, but Alex could just generally be speaking about the whole idea of the videos being posted publicly on YouTube.

I see why this is an interesting point, but, in the end, Marble Hornets is not an ARG. Troy confirmed as much back at the GMX Expo, during their Q&A panel. There's not really that much player interaction, definitely none that affects the plot. So let's just take this for what it is, because we're not going to decide the outcome of the plot with our involvement.
