Zaden makes a lot of good points. Arguments like that will probably bring Tim back on Jay's side or something.

Still, I can understand Tim reacting badly. I don't think he should blame Jay, but Jay was the obvious target for his rage and confusion.

I mean Tim has suddenly come upon the revelation that he is in a horror story and that he was one of the monsters. He just hasn't come to terms with it yet, which is obvious in a lot of what Tim says and does in this entry.

To make it worse, Jay didn't make himself out to be a very good person during their trip to the abandoned buildings. Think about it, Jay drags Tim somewhere that he didn't want to go. Jay doesn't even show his appreciation for all this. By the end, Tim was mad at Jay just because Jay was kind of a douche that day. Then Tim finds out what Jay was really doing and that he was keeping secrets from him.

On the other hand, Jay knows that Alex betrayed him during the gap between the end of S1 and the beginning S2. In fact, Jay finds this out after the fact by watching the tapes. So he doesn't get to experience the betrayal first hand. I doubt Jay feels like he can trust anyone. And a lot of Jay's actions make sense remembering this fact, but remember that Tim basically just had the same thing happen to him too. He was attacked by Alex and gets to see the result of trusting Alex after the fact.

At the risk of getting super meta, maybe Tim will read this thread and take some of your points into consideration.

I don't know how it's considered "META" if the the whole point is to seem realistic. Jay sometimes responds to our tweets, I don't know why people don't stand up and scream meta just because of that.

The whole point is for it to seem realistic, isn't it? If it is, it isn't meta in any way.

This forum isn't considered "in-universe".

Anyone else get the feeling that Tim will end up doing his own investigations on the subject? Probably to cure himself of the slendersickness/Masky personality in some way, but in any case, I'd definitely like to see how he handles these things he's calling Jay out on for not doing so well on.

Not to mention what happens when he's holding the camera and ends up switching to Maskynality.

For some strange reason, I didn't mention this in my larger post, but Jay made a real dick move as well.

Tim: "You can keep doing your detective work, but stay out of my life!"
Jay: *posts the video anyway*

Just a general impression that I've been getting since Season 2, but I think Troy and Joseph sometimes forget that because the YouTube and Twitter are in-game, Jay needs to have reasons to post AND consider the consequences of posting his investigations on the Internet. Sometimes, it seems that some parts of Entries are there specifically from a director's standpoint, that the audience needs to see this, and not thinking that Jay should actually reconsider including that little part in his edited Marble Hornets Entries. Little bits of the camera panning through empty woods? Why would he feel the need to post that? Maybe I'm thick, but sometimes subtle reasons why that little bit should be included, such as context, Jay setting the atmosphere in-game (as opposed to Troy setting an atmosphere out-of-game), or to show what the area looks like, are not even there. This, to me, seemed to be less evident in Season 1.

Sometimes I feel that they (the writers) are slipping. Not to jump down their throat or expect everything to be perfect; I know that people make mistakes. I just want to be constructive.

Jay has always been the type to never really explain his actions or think them through. Sometimes, I wonder if it's supposed to be because of the Operator. You notice how he becomes way more genre savvy during the missing 17 months?

You know what I find amusing? That everything we joked about happening did. Tim found out what Jay was up to by searching Marble Hornets, that he beat the crap out of Jay....

I just thought of something in relation to Masky being a second personality or not.

In entry####### we hear a distorted voice that sounds like Tim's. Now this does not say that Masky has a personality, but he is capable of speech and thought.

Just read Zaden's post. Those are good points, but I think Tim makes some pretty good points at Jay's expense, as well.

Why is he so fixated with Jessica, a girl he doesn't even really remember? Why doesn't he try to quit again, seeing as everyone else has had mixed success with it. Why doesn't he give a thought that maybe he might be dumping his own problems onto Tim? Why doesn't Jay reflect on the fact that, honestly, he's got nothing good from doing this whole Marble Hornets thing?

The answer is, of course, because that would be boring.

Jay is fixated with Jessica because he is responsible for her going missing regardless of what Tim says. Alex didn't want her involved, Jay only pulled her into things because he felt alone in his problem and wanted someone to talk to about things so he didn't feel like life had become so unfamiliar.

Jay tried to quit all of this back in entry 23, but problems came back to find him.

He isn't dumping his problems onto Tim, Tim is one of his problems. Tim broke into his house, and then led him to the operator (return). Tim followed him miles away from his home to the building from entry 34 (where alex used jay as bait to get him). Tim attacked him in his hotel room. If someone did any of those to me I'd consider them to be a problem.

I urge people to watch the series from Jay's point of view and not from their own, and you will really get a feel for his character. Most people don't comprehend little details if they don't do this, such as that entry 40 is the first time Jay sees the operator and gets away and remembers the encounter. Him sitting on the ground shaking is so much more emotional once you realize that.
