Well, maybe. If that were the case, it would suck to be Jay in the event that he would be cornered by Slenderface and have to run back through the tunnel to get back out. It may also lead to another part of the complex, perhaps a location from a previous entry, or a new one entirely. I have no preference as to which. I just want to see a new place.

This doesn't really belong in any thread in particular, but the talk of forgetting Entry #40 made me think the following: What if Jay lost some of his memory in the 7 month gap? He would be aware of a gap until he got wiped again in Entry #52. That could lead to some excellent plot devices. (For example, in Entry #50 he writes on the tape as if he expects to have a wipe at some point in the near future.) Basically at any point in the 7 month gap past-Jay could have acted irrationally at any point and present-Jay wouldn't know anything about how or why.

If Jay had his memory wiped every time he met the Operator then he'd trust Alex until Entry #52. (The first time he'd have a wipe would be Entry #40, and the first person he meets after that is Alex, who is being a douche, but at least he's a friendly face. Then after Entry #47 he knows he fled Alex's house but doesn't know why he went there in the first place, so when Alex asks him he has no answer: "I... had a hunch". We see this kind of answerfail again with Jessica. Eventually Alex tells him that the key he has is to his front door, and from there Jay realises he's losing memories and writes on the tape.)

Just a few thoughts... I suppose we'll get some clues now that he's had another run in with the Operator in the tunnels.
