Seventeen Rooms [Trailhead?]

I was followed by a Twitter account @imzea who
sent a couple tweets yesterday that looked lika a puzzle and a few more today and then just followed that with an email. She started following Unfiction and users here but is expanding her audience now. Here is the email from her Yahoo email address:

Journal Entry #1 (mailed for my records)

There are seventeen rooms upstairs. Kay says that each one has it's own key. I asked her to tell me how to find these keys, and she says I'm not ready. I know I am. I guess I will have to figure out some of this on my own.

The messenger brings me letters. Not sure if they are related:

Contents of Letter #1

Dear Zea,

As per our previous conversation, I am deeply concerned about the events of last month. Clearly there are many disturbing things about that house which must be dealt with before the sellers come.

You say you heard children crying. Could you be mistaken? Are there any in the neighborhood?

Of course, I don't believe in such things, but have you looked into the possibility that a child or children could have died here?

What about the bullet holes? I can find none. You say they come and go? What does that mean?

Also, gunshots. In fact, lots of shooting. Well, this is a pretty quiet, safe neighborhood.

I gather from our conversations that you are not crazy, but none of this adds up and I'm anxious to solve this.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Sincerely,

Leo Verit

Received the same email but I've not been followed on Twitter.

What was the puzzle you received?

EDIT:

Her tweet: "ThE woRld is Too much wITH uS; latE and sooN..."

Is a poem by William Wordsworth

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_Is_Too_Much_with_Us

CAPS letters don't appear to mean anything: ERTITHSEN could be a cypher, not ROT. Haven't checked the usual suspects yet.

The following tweet said "PBS is the key".

Followed and received email as well. Haven't had much chance to look into the cipher text yet.

Checked my twitter but was not followed, but I did get the email recently too.

Can't say I'll be able to follow with all the other stuff i'm doing, but I guess I'll see where this leads.

ERTITHSEN is anagram of: thirteens

Not sure how this helps but I'll pass it on to Zea.

Well this looks interesting...

What if the leading "T" is supposed to be included? It is capitalized. But I haven't had any luck deciphering "TERTITHSEN" either. I'd say we are definitely looking for a keyed cipher, since she gives us a key to use, but I've tried all the usual suspects...

The first anagram to come up when I passed it through the site I usually use was "Nether Tits," if that helps Razz

My thoughts on the cypher:

thirteens, as someone suggested, but it seems coincidental
(definitely not nether tits)
I noticed it makes the words TEETH and SIREN, but I suspect these are coincidental as well
I got enter this (and subsequently enter shit), sin tether, teen shirt, nothing interesting

Then I went to a word descrambler and discovered these two interesting ones: Tenth Rise and Tenth Sire. No idea what it could mean.

Also how did everyone receive emails? I'm not terribly new here, I just lurk rather than participate and decided to try and help for once.

Oh, thanks Adm, least I know where the code come from now.

PBS, well I looked it up, found the public broadcasting service right away (obviously) it caught my eye because she mentioned her 'kids' and most of the links were about kids shows (my brain works in weird ways.)

anyway I don't think that's what it is, have we worked out what PBS is? Is it some kind of decoder, trying to think of the different kinds there are. The first thing I thought when i saw PBS was 'peanut butter sandwich' hee hee!

Anyway ganna try some times and watch the blog, will report back if anything comes about.

Edit: If working with the 'Thirteen' 'Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea;' is the thirteenth line of that poem. Probably not important but I thought I would mention it.

Edit02: Also another thing I noticed is she refers to someone named 'K' and the name she is going by is Zea Bea, kinda made me think of ZB when I sounded it out.

Emails from Zea

1st Email:

Quote:
I LOVE getting letters and making new friends! I have for sure followed you on Twitter. I have decided to keep my journal entries at http://imzea.wordpress.com rather than mailing them, because it's easier to read them in that format.

I will try to answer some of your questions as best I can. Some can't be answered. I live in a house in the country. It's very, very big. I've never lived in such a big house. We keep to the first floor in one wing of the house, because the rest of it is closed off to save money. We are allowed to wander off though, through both the house and grounds, which is how I found the seventeen rooms upstairs and also the old trunk in the attic.

I can go outside. It rains a lot right now, so I've been reading old books about the Romantic Poets that somebody left behind.

The messenger is a boy.

I can't really tell you more at this point, about where I am or who K or the messenger or the others are, in order to protect their privacy.

Love, Z

p.s. all Leo cares about is selling houses, not about the real stories.

2nd Email: This was in answer to the ERTITHSEN is anagram of: thirteens

Quote:

You are quite clever! I don't think this means anything to me. Could it be an anagram of something else?

Here is something from the book. Sleeping flowers is underlined. Isn't that interesting?

This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon;
The winds that will be howling at all hours,
And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers,

The poem excerpt is from the same Wordsworth poem already mentioned. Without more information these references are needles in a stack of needles.

Quote:
You are quite clever!
- boost to my already big ego Wink

With the 'T' at the beginning ERTITHSEN will not anagram into anything unless it is more than one word. Which is quite a long list.

Hopefully there is someone far more clever than me out there.

Zobot welcome back - not much to catch up on.

EDIT: Just sent Zea an email back.

Quote:
Perhaps you could take a picture of the flag and post it up on your new blog then we can help find out what it is. If not what colours are on the flag and are they vertical or horizontal?

Do the 17 rooms have numbers, names, markings on them? Are the doors coloured in anyway?
