One of my favorite atmospheric-horror movies (which is to say, one of my favorite movies). I'm on my second DVD of it -- first one bit it from overuse.

It's available for streaming on Netflix, check it out if you haven't seen it. Preferably while alone.

Session 9 ranks up there. I am also a big fan of Jacob's Ladder, which I love to watch at night after the family has hit the sack.

It would be quite EPIC if the twist revealed that Tim is actually the one who was stalked as a kid, the one who brought TO to the lifes of Alex and Jay. Mindblow.

...And then Alex somehow hijacked him.

Here's my two cents. I think that

a) Tim knows more than he's letting on, but

b) He wasn't conscious of being Masky when he was Masky, and learning about it through Jay's videos is what set him off.

Think about it, that anger seemed too natural for Tim to have been lying about something such as that. However, given what was found in the tunnel, I think that Tim knows more about the OP than Jay and the others think.

I think you hit it on the head.

100 minutes of attempted mood building that goes nowhere, has no pay-off, and reverts to '70s cheeze when forced to actually end the piece?

Either this is really clever snark at Marble Hornets fans, or you're a complete enigma, pravado.

Also, I suspect a mod will be along shortly to tell us to take it off-thread. Oops.

11:11PM and I noticed Entry #60 came out.

I came here to make sure I can still sleep tonight. Watched it anyways. Then I remembered this was posted a few days ago (only a few miles from my house)and
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Slendy seems to be in a chasing mood.

Edited for spoiler I forgot XD

I love the theory that slendy appears when he's thought of. Jay has been so worried about Tim that he more or less forgot about the operator until the doll. Though it's not a solid theory that he appears EVERY time he's thought of.

Also thinking Jay was able to get away because of the old theory how the operator can't teleport or move fast in front of a working camera, Or while he's seen. He has to wait for his radiation or whatever to stop the camera for a second before moving.

To be fair you only really have to worry about spoilers on the first few pages. If someone goes to the last pages on a discussion thread before watching, they're not concerned about it getting spoiled.

Thanks, sorry. Good to know though X)

Also, I was just thinking - The doll, when he picked it up, alerted Slendy/summoned him? Or he was letting J get the papers before deciding he wanted him out of there fast. Or possibly the doll reminded J of Slender and made him think of him? .....with that thought, I should go to bed before I think too hard and summon him. Or try and think too hard for a comment and say something stupid (most likely already did so, being a noob and it being 11:37).

"His (origins) lies in the darkness."

Not necessarily Masky's, but the Operator's origin?

Tim, as a frightened pediatric patient, hiding from the doctors in the maintenance tunnels, with his little toy? Doesn't "Operator" sound like what a child might call a surgeon?

And maybe he brought a few of the other patient with him to play? Running around, chanting "The Operator will getcha if you DON'T... WATCH.... OUT!!" Like tag... and they were only safe when they reached the "Ark" (whatever that is? Although I do want to mention lots of Pediatric Hospitals have murals of Noah and the Ark) And then, maybe, the Operator DID start getting them, one by one, when they were older and had forgotten?

Didn't TTA once say "It started as a game for us"?
After all, they didn't say where they all met, or if they were all acting students or even went to the same college. Only that Alex had gotten them together to make this movie.

I kind of like the idea (mentioned earlier, I forget by who) that Alex somehow ended up in control of the operator... Maybe Masky's ire is not so much anger at Alex trying to kill him, but Alex stealing TO. Maybe Alex had problems with violent behavior as a child.

And as for the memory loss... don't patients of Electroconvulsive Therapy have problems with memory loss? (Even though I know it's used only in extreme cases, and probably not with children, at least nowdays).

I know, I'm not saying any of this is true, I'm just having fun with some possibilities.

I know they mentioned (on the commentary) not wanting to attach an origin story to the operator too soon, but they also did not rule out creating one later.

Only problem I have with the tulpa theory is that there has to be a huge, kind of unnecessary case of lying creator in effect in order for it to work.

Not impossible, just Saiyan.

Well, we have seen him coughing and taking pills in Brian's house in S1, if that's what you mean. But from that point to this, the suggestion of Tim being Slendy-stalked almost his entire life, it's way way different.

Different in magnitude, but the implication--"Tim is the one who started the Operator mess, not Alex"--is the same.

Yeah, there's the video of Alex's birthday, but as I recall, there was nothing definitive about The Operator being there. Just the same kind of "general creepy shit" you usually get from Totheark.

I don't know what the hell I was thinking re: Operator encounters. You guys are absolutely right about that.
