I think there may be a Dallas contigent that may be coming down for this one. If anyone is intrested, I think a carpool might be a good idea.

Here's hoping...

...about that carpool...

My fianceé, bless her heart, was going to make the trip down (I'm originally from NJ, and well, I don't have a lisence, due to a strong public transportation system), but she can't make it.

I'm in Arlington, which is midway between Dallas and Forth Worth. While I have only had a part in enhottenating a mere 3 axons, if someone would be willing to work me into a carpoll and/or pick me up on the way, I'd be very grateful.

I'd be willing to chip in for gas, tolls and food money along the way.

Please email me at shawnstruckSPLATgmail.com or PM for details. I'd love to work something out.

Austin

I will be there as well... have been at a couple of the axons... do you have to be listed as crew? What is the email you need to respond to?

I'll be driving down to Austin from Dallas. I can carry two other people comfortably, or three others uncomfortable (I drive a Mustang). I've offered one of the spots in my car to Angelo, but I'm still waiting to hear if he wants to go, or not.

I sent my registration email in last night, but haven't heard anything back, yet (not that I really expect to). Will someone advise if they've gotten any acknowledgement from their emails?

Also, email address if you want to ride with me is machiavelli1SPLATgmail.com - I plan on driving down to austin from Dallas in time to hit the start of the event, and driving back to Dallas after the event. I do not plan on spending the night in Austin.

I believe the e-mail address for registration is danatwingSPLATgmail.com. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well if I still had my Astro Van we'd have like 7 seats but now all I have is my cavalier which seats 3 or 4 depending on how unconfortable you want to get. We can also caravan with 2 cars if need be. I am in Denton so, I could bring Angelo down to Arlington and meet up with Shawn and Machiavelli so at the moment we could all fit in one car.

If anyone else is intrested, we need to hear from them. The only other beekeeper I know that's in the crew is Lt. Gilada but I'm not sure what his plans are.

I also have no intention on staying in Austin over night; got nowhere to crash now since my brother is touring Europe. So I'll probally drive back right afterward.

I see no reference to "crew-only" requirements for this event. So go for it!

what location?

Hi, long time lurker, 1st time poster, and all that...

so, according to a link in this discussion:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7527

the coords. are at 4th and colorado. That's where the alamo drafthouse is, right? It would be awesome if it were a drafthouse sponsored event, they always go all-out on stuff like this. But at drafthouse.com, they have stuff scheduled for the 4th that doesn't remotely relate to halo. they are having "Halolympics" but that doesn't start 'till the 9th... anyways, does anyone else know what else is there? I think I remember a parkinglot, I think Truluck's restaurant is around there, and a couple other clubs.

If it is a big LAN party-type thing happening, any ideas where they might hold it?

I'm in Lewisville, actually, so not TOO far from you. Haven't decided if I'm leaving from work (Downtown) or home yet, though. Angelo decided to go to the Chicago party since he has family there, so he won't be joining us.

I talked to Lt. Gilada. He has other plans and won't be able to make it.

Shawn Struck wanted to go from Arlington, and I have no problem swinging out to get him. We might be able to swing one car, but I doubt it... I'm all about the comfort thing... Unless its just you and me, astro.

On a side note, I have to say that the event is age 17+, but if someone under 18 wants to ride with me, thats cool, but I'm going to want to talk to, and maybe meet, their parents first. I don't need the hassle of kidnapping charges or anything of the like.

Edit - Fixed my HTML tags so it didn't look stupid.

So, did you grab the Denton Axon last night? I was on my way up there, but hit traffic coming up I35, and missed it by a few minutes.

Yeah, I'm gonna pass on this. Hitting up the Wizard World Texas comic convention that Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If the game weren't coming out 5 days latter, I'd rethink it, but I think I can hold out for a couple more days.

You guys have fun.
