Io E-Card, I forget the tags.. UPDATE! E-MAIL! you decide ;)

e-card received today: http://www.godandscience.org/cards/may13-8721322146.html

(for lack of knowing how to post it in here):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(picture of the moon Io, no alt text)

It is right that my new temple should be built on a site where hearts are poured out.
The thoughtful little bird would love it -- writings about walking around! While I myself
appreciate it as a honeypot for illiterate porn-seekers.

'Set your heart at rest:
The fairy land buys not the child of me.
His mother was a votress of my order'

your lady

This card was created by blood red ( b100dSPLATthemountain.com) expressly for g8. If you would like to send a card to a person you really care for, just go to http://www.godandscience.org/ and create your own free virtual cards.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the "set your heart.." bit is a line from Act 2 Scene 1 of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' ( found here )

The previous paragraph seems to be hinting at facethejury, or some other dating-type site (?), I've been far too busy to keep track of this anymore Confused , may be a new site, may be one already and i'm just being all trouty - i leave you to sort it out.

Hmm, lots of fresh weirdness in this one. This is really getting rather interesting, if incomprehensible.

The lines from Midsummer Night's Dream are spoken by Titania to Oberon (her husband, and King of the Fairies). Titania is also the name the largest moon of Uranus. Oberon is also the name of the outermost of the satellites of Uranus. The picture is of Io, a moon of Jupiter. So we have 3 more references to moons here.

The image of Io comes from the site's own "Send an e-Card" page, so I don't think it could have been doctored.

"The Mountain" appears to be a legit e-commerce site selling T-shirts located in New Hampshire. A strange place for the red queen to have her e-mail address? Anybody want to try mailing her?

The "b100d" is a clear reference to the unsolved "th1ce b100d fr0m b100d" binary digits puzzle. Perhaps something here is a new clue for that puzzle?

The name, e-mail references to red blood and the use of bits mark a this as the work of the Red Queen character.

The card was created "expressly for g8". Who/what is that? SPEC: g8 in chess notation is the starting position of one of the two Black Knights. I don't think there's been any of those in this game, but I know that this would ring bells for anyone playing the Acheron/L3 game. Yet another cross-game reference?

"new temple", "site where hearts are poured out", "writings about walking around", "honeypot for illiterate porn-seekers". Hmm, doesn't mean anything to me. Looked at FaceTheJury.com and don't see much of a connection.

I thought of blogging immediately when I read that. There is a new member on xanga named "bloodred", but that looks to be typical teen girl drivel.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot that this game uses LiveJournal. There is a recent deleted account, "blood_red". He has 30 days to undelete...

Io was an Argive princess and the daughter of Inachus, an ancient hero or river god of Argos. She also had the misfortune to be subjected to the lust of Zeus. Zeus, in an attempt to avoid the rage and jealousy of Hera, his wife, transformed Io into a handsome white heifer. Hera, who knew Zeus was up to no good, asked for the heifer as a present. Zeus could not refuse. Hera deposited Io in the safe keeping of Argus, the watchman with a hundred eyes. She was eventually rescued by Hermes.

Googling "hearts poured out" or "new temple" results in a great many links of the Christian variety. I browsed a few prison ministry ones, but they appeared legit and unhelpful. And "honeypot for illiterate porn seekers" turns up nothing.

Surely the 'illiterate porn seekers" line is a hint to the name of a web site or journal, for example www.naked-grils.com or www.livejournal.com/~pron ? This journal exists by the way, but there have been no posts since August 2001.

The word 'pron' cropped up while I was exploring the Land Of Mu but that might have been a coincidence; apparently it is recognised in the Usenet world as the type of thing posted by newbies: "I WNAT SOME PRON!!1!" etc.

I guess we now know where the picture of Io fits in with the Temple:
