So Slendy is Vince's?
The Rake is Alex's?
Habit is Evan's?

I'm probably not correct......

Alex isn't MT4

Evan = HABIT
Jeff = Rake
Vince = Slendy
Steph = ??

Or maybe Steph = Slendy leaving Vince alone... I dunno. We've had this discussion before but I always feel like it is far too late in the series to be introducing a new villain. (And the first person that mentions fucking Zalgo gets a slap.)

Except, Dr. Corenthal mentioned that Linnie's "personal demon was more feral than the others", so none of the MT4's personal demons can be the Rake. And I'd pin Steph for Slendy if I had to pick, but they're all tortured by Slendy, and Fairmount Vince mentioned "Captain Habit," so I don't see them all having their own personal demons.

Agreed.

I am very interested in why the Doctor was a.) behaving a fuckton like HABIT/Evan (the arm outstretch, the turns of phrase, the cigar and leather jacket?) and b.) had purple superimposed on him before going to a purely purple shot. Surely I am not the only person who found that odd!
@DHawk, it was pretty much clear that Rake did Linnie in.

EDIT: Okay, maybe I'm getting way ahead of myself here (probably am), but I think that was HABIT, not Corenthal. I don't trust him, whoever he was. He didn't speak or act like Corenthal, but he sure spoke and acted like HABIT, and the goddamned purple! We associate purple with HABIT, why the hell would it show up in distortion around Corenthal? HABs is up to some goddamned shit.

I also genuinely thought it was HABIT at first. I think, and this gonna sound weird but here me out here, it's because he's fatherly to Vinnie (Because he's his father.) One of HABIT's big attitudes with Green Feathers was that he acts overly familiar, and it's weird because he's so not. But Dr. Corenthal genuinely is. Also, I think it may have to do with the fact that he's southern, and I remember thinking HABIT sounded a little southern with the Green Feathers. But mostly that other thing.

This is exactly what I thought. Down to the all the stereotypical "action hero" stuff, cigar, black leather jacket, sunglasses and gun?

And the way he spoke is NOTHING like the rather flowery way Corenthal writes.

It's also interesting to note, he told Vinnie not to fight back... just to duck his head and run. So if it's Habby, then can we assume Vin CAN fight them if he tries?

Also, in the bathroom with the bloody bandage... did anyone else hear what sounded like a baby crying? Could Steph be in the ark with her baby now?

Exactly. I think HABIT is trying to lure Vin into the ARK, maybe? It is possible to assume everyone else is in there, based on recent events.
No matter what he is trying to do, in my mind, there is 100% no way that was the real Corenthal, or at least the Corenthal he was pretending to be. I am willing to go out on that limb. He appeared to Vinny in a guise that he would trust- Corenthal, being badass as hell, the Alan Wake reference. It is even casting suspicion on how determined HABIT was to make sure GreenFeathers distributed the information he was being given. To the point of appearing in person.
I'm calling it. HABIT is sure as hell up to tomfoolery, in my mind.

For clarification on the Alan Wake reference, this is the conversation between Alan and "The Lady of the Light" where a lot of shit gets explained in the game:

Quote:
Cynthia Weaver: "I knew them both. Tom and Barbara. I had such a crush on him... such a beautiful man. I was jealous. There was a part of me that was maybe a little glad when she had the accident. And then Tom started writing and woke the darkness up... He tried to bring her back... but you cant do that. There are no free rides like that."
Alan Wake: "I'm starting to realize that."
Cynthia Weaver: "In that case, young man, perhaps you're a smarter man than Tom was... The witch looked like her, but it wasn't. Barbara was sweet. He didn't understand until it was too late. He tried to undo it, wrote himself, her, everything he'd ever written out of the world. He was so famous. And afterwards no one knew. Oh, Tom. He left only one thing behind in my care, in case it happened again. Insurance. He trusted me, or perhaps used me a little. Tom knew how I felt -- knew I wouldn't refuse him. I built the Well-Lit Room and put it there. It's been waiting for you. We are characters trapped in a story you have written and none of us will survive to see the end of it if the darkness isn't stopped. She'll twist the story to her own dark ends."
Alan Wake: "How do you know all of this?"
Cynthia Weaver: "Tom. That's the way he wrote it. He still talks to me, you know. In television, from beyond, from below. We have both been touched by the darkness, young man. He saved us both with light. But the darkness stays with you, leaves a stain."

Unrelated side note: Did Corenthal remind anyone else of Il Duce?

Of course all we actually know about Corenthal (his personal correspondence, anyway) has been spoon-fed to us by HABIT.

The letters, the clues, the typewriter ribbons. All sent to us by HABIT. The only info that came to us from another source was from Jessie, and the newspaper articles Jeff found in the library. Why, if HABIT hated Corenthal so much, did he want the others to know all about him?

What if the Doctor that we think we know is a fake personality? But if the guys ran into him, wouldn't they immediately trust him? After all, that's who Vinnie was searching for.

And if I remember correctly, didn't the Rake destroy the information/evidence about Corenthal that Jeff had stored in his house? Ripped it up and left a trail to the closet.The closet they found Vin's phone in.

I'm beginning to fall into the Slenderman=Corenthal camp, I think...

Edit:
I'm not implying the Doc wasn't a real person, but that he might be being used as bait.

Thinking about the tweet from HABIT, "IT IS I WHO inHABITS THIS SANCTUARY"...

I'm pretty sure that wasn't the real Corenthal. A faux one...or something...

I'm just wondering how HABIT got ahold of a Corenthal-from-the-past look alike.

In a way, part of me wonders if Vin's dad (if he is his dad, hard to go against tbh) is the dr. I tell the girls "the dr is in" when they're upset. It's a parental thing sometimes. He knows what's going on and has managed to carve his own world to avoid the "monsters".
I so confused now O_o lol
