 		What was Alex trying to show Jay?
He was trying to show him something, twice...
In Entry # 38, after Alex tells Jay the history of the woods they're walking through, he tells Jay to "come here," and before he can, Jay has to change the tape and it ends.

A similar occurrence happens in Entry # 52, when Alex leads Jay and Jessica to that building out in the woods and he tells them to "look over there," and that "the answer is right over there," and that "he doesn't want to see it again." But before they can investigate, he pulls a gun on them and then Masky attacks.

What is it that Alex is trying to show Jay in these entries? The "Ark" maybe?

 		I don't know, that doesn't seem right... I remember another entry where it shows Jay and Alex walking away from something and Alex says something like "Bring Jessica, next time, too-- she needs to see it." Whatever it is, it's something that doesn't want to be seen on film-- and considering that the footage in question took place during the seven month "blackout" period, Jay doesn't remember what it is.

Alex told them something was in the woods because he wanted to get them in a secluded area, and he used the excuse of having something to show them because he knew they wanted answers to what was going on. He tells Jay to bring Jessica because he knows that when Jay asked for Jessica's number, he was bringing her into his investigation and Alex wanted the entire investigation to cease to exist, along with anyone involved

It's not deeper than that. If alex had anything to show them he would have done so before pulling out a gun.

 		Still, what about that one entry where he shows... something to Jay, we don't see it, but he tells him to bring Jessica next time? Jay saw something, he just doesn't remember what.

 		He didn't see anything. Alex told his spooky story, Alex said "c'mere," Jay stopped to switch tapes, tapes were switched, and Jay decided it was getting dark and that they should go home, and Alex told Jay to bring Jessica next time.

EDIT: Wrong order.

It was a boat. Alex was trying to take him on a fishing trip with Fredo Corleone.

There's no evidence of that between the tapes...first he's sitting down, then he's still sitting down in the corresponding entry. You can even see Alex continuing to walk towards Jay, as he was doing in #38. His shoes show up as Jay's getting back up with the camera.

 		Watch the two entries again dude, hahaha. The transition speaks for itself. Or just watch Entry #50, which makes it even clearer. Alex starts walking towards Jay in the first tape, and he's standing in front of him by the start of the second tape, after the cut. They're even in the same spot.
