It's because they don't know that there are women out there who are NOT like that.

Amen! I don't know if it is the same with other women here, but at least with me, people seem to be suprised with the types of things I am into. Like FPS and the like. I just don't get why people are so shocked, its not like women are from cookie cutters...[/quote]

I actually started a thread about this on another forum I'm on a few days ago. I went into an EB last week to trade in some games to pay off my preordered copy of Halo2. There was a new guy working there who was in shell shock because I was a woman, buying a copy for myself, trading in a bunch of typically male games. I also like comic books and science fiction (Star Wars, etc), so I get it from all sides. My husband made a comment to a friend of ours a couple weeks ago (at a Halo party ironically) that he was glad I don't have any "girly" friends.

If you live in Indiana, Arizona, or Hawaii keep in mind that Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend. Here in Indiana we are currently on the same time as Chicago (2 hours ahead of California). Next week we will be on the same time as New York (3 hours ahead of California).

If they are giving away free stuff would anyone be interested in sending something to a beekeeper stranded in France? Living overseas can be awful at times like this.

I hope all of you who can go have a wonderful fragfest!

Thanks to all who played! I will PM you with the loot (U2 Kali) Wink

Of course it's not hard--I had 9pm for NYC too (see earlier posts on this thread) but was getting anxious when I asked for a quick confirmation and noone responded.... Bang Head

Nevermind.. it's out of my system now...

That's perfect though.. Don't have to leave work early or anything and will still get there ahead of time... Cool

It's impressive to see you lot jetting about the countryside to do this. I won't be making any flights over from New Zealand for it, so I expect to see lots of photos posted for the benefit of myself and others like me. Very Happy

I feel bad for all the loyal Beekeepers outside of the US. I feel sorry for them because as much as they follow the story and participate, they still are too far away.

I feel for you guys.

That's a nice way of putting it. Laughing

Edit: (Seriously, she is one of the few people in the world who not only can appreciate the structural beauty of a well crafted sentence, but can also create them herself. She is an artist. You should read some of her short stories, which, if you give her the proper blood sacrifices, she may be willing to bestow upon you.)

I'm sure there will be a plethora of cameras.

All right, I guess I don't need to smack you around. Meh. The stories are mostly gone with my old computer. The ones that remain were created for specific contexts, or are incomplete.

As for shirts, I think it's a good idea...I was thinking pins, but shirts would be cooler and have more of a long-term use. Do we have any idea what sort of shirts we would want? Tank tops? Babydolls?

However, we might want to wait a little longer, depending on how long CafePress takes to create and ship things. I'm not sure that all the members of the Goddess Army are present and accounted for yet: I don't want to exclude any of the other awesome ILB women who will be coming to Chicago -- speak up, sisters! Time's a-wasting!

Yeah, but you live in MIDDLE EARTH.

I'll try to snag you some stuff (if there is any). There will probably be some things that Phaedra and I can share, so I'll send my hobbitty friend the extras.

look how much this has brought us together... (:
we're like family... sharing stuff with people in australia... where else do you find these kind of (somewhat weird) relationships?

but yes, cameras will be the coolest thing ever!
