I am continually impressed with the PM's ability to stir the forums into a frenzy. Weephun was the first person to recieve the ire of the community. Thin Kinkle was next. (Not to compare the two. I still think Weephun played his role beautifully) This time we don't really have a target, since we all played a role.

So... Who's answering phones next week? Twisted Evil

Oh come on now. If we try REALLY hard, I'm sure we can come up with a scapegoat to take the fall for this. What about the last people to recieve the last live call?? Come on people, we need SOMEONE else to blame since taking resposibility would be too much like... right. Wink

What about the DC hunters that worked their butts off? How far is New York from DC?

Actually it's an easy train ride from DC to NY. Which is why I'm flying to California that weekend (for my real life) and trying to figure out how to squeeze in an evening in SF on the way...

Wanted: SP Alive

krystyn,
Your posts are the best. they are always clear and concise and never frivolous (something that I am guilty of quite often).

I only quote a tiny part of this one because that is what I want to respond to:
Our evidence that SP is dead is that she has disappeared off of the contactme page. (The Pious Flea has disappeared too, so is he dead?).
Melissa says the rogue process is destroyed, but that is not evidence. It is inconsistent story-telling if SP is dead. If Melissa wants us to think she is dead, even though she isn't, that would be consistent (because Mel is a little off) anyway. SP would scream if she even saw Melissa coming at her. So, i don't think the scream is evidence of death.

My knowledge of AI mythology is weak, so experts can debunk my theory. I do know good story-telling, though.

If the story is good, SP is not dead. Effectively making us think she is dead is excellent. Actually killing her is weak.

Putting a nail in my tiny coffin of relentless support for Ms. Awbrey:

I'm so glad that Aunt Margaret's safe. The two humans threatened here, in our time, are hopefully now safe from assault by the crazed AI who sure as heck better be going back home soon.

I never had too much sympathy for the SP - but listening to that .WAV was tough. I was hoping for a good end for her - her story was always the most compelling out of all our AI friends, and reading back upon the original Perdita's Story ending, and her inability to write it any other way, is pretty heart-wrenching now. I'll keep that glimmer of hope she's still there (partially just because it will keep things interesting), that the Flea protected her, anything like that. But for now... rest in peace.

And thank god Dana's okay.

Hey, now. If the AIs can learn to forgive, then shouldn't we? Wink

  • If Melissa reintegrates the Durga construct/avatar, will the SP be "reborn", yet still locked away?

I reiterate: If Durga = Melissa, then Durga contains the SP.

Now there's no chance of the SP being killed as well, isn't it the best time for Dana to take Melissa out?

Unless Melissa + Princess = Durga

The death of SP may have and effect upon Durga that we havent seen yet.

Wild spec_
Wait..She deleted the SP..which durga has been feeling to be more and more apart of her..with the dreams and all. Wont Durga attack Mel? Durga seems relentless with eliminating threats against her..seeing that the SP and Durga have come closer and closer to the point durga remembering..it could be taken that the SP deletion as an attack upon herself.

I am afraid the PM's have forshadowed already Durga's impending rampancy, and this may all be a part of it. I hate to say, but I expect there will be signs in base invasion.

something occured to me earlier today, why did the PM's have the Princess ask the live call takers for all of those pictures of cats and blueberry pancakes if they were just going to kill her anyway? looks like i wasn't the only one to think of that:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7563

again, delusionally hopefull spec, but hey... we can dream

maybe they were feeling especially evil and just wanted to get your hopes up / make you believe that nothing was going to happen to her yesterday...
