I've always gotten the feeling that Totheark was a trio. It seems like the most efficient way of doing things.

If totheark is a trio, my guess on the third member is the imfamous Skully (who I think is Seth).

I think Masky and Hoody have been working together for a while, but Hoody had no real reason to show himself at first. He worked behind the scenes. It's also feasible to assume that TTA didn't want Jay to know just how many people were behind the account.

I see this as a good way of explaining the simultaneous use of "we" and "me." Masky acted as TTA's physical representative, but whoever all was behind the account seem to have wanted the same thing. Ever notice that Hoody didn't appear until after Timasky got his knee screwed up?


Seems like a very valid explanation. Hoody cropped up almost as soon as Tim was put out of commition. I almost forgot that simple fact.

And then next we see them both together, working to the same end (luring Alex to the woods) . Them working together outside of TTA is already confirmed, so it isn't much of a leap to assume they ran the account together. I wonder why Hoody would've wanted Jay (or us) to think that Masky ran the account.

My theory is that Hoody's Dangerously Genre Savvy and knows not to put himself at the forefront where he'd be in danger of TO attacks and Jay stalkage. Basically anyone who goes near Jay is in danger of either having secrets exposed (Alex), being abducted (Jessica), or getting memory wiped (Tim and Jay himself).

My theory has always been that Hoody/Totheark uses others to do what he wants them to do in order to avoid putting himself and his memories at risk by coming into contact with The Operator. If he forgets, his quest for "the ark" is pretty much fucked. And if Jay - or anyone - finds out too much about him, they'll draw too much attention to him and put him in danger. It's not too outlandish.

By those later entries in Season 2, Tim was out of commission, so Hoody was kind of forced to start doing things, as Andvalli (sorry dude, missed your post) and FossilizedSauce pointed out (good point, never really took much attention to that). It's weird that he openly shows himself in Entry #41, but maybe he just wanted Jay to know that he was being watched/to remember him in the future so that Jay would at least recognize the figure as "helping" him in Season 3?

And of course, in #45, Tim can't run faster than Alex, so that's self-explanatory. Hoody HAD to get involved then too.

And now Hoody appears to be a solo operator (ha-ha). So that explains his much more involved nature as of now.

Which is all evidence to say that yes, Totheark has all this time been run by two people up until the end of the seven months. If there had been more than two, it wouldn't have been necessary to make it seem that only one Masky existed, nor would they have had to have been as careful (because would it really make sense to hold two guys back? even if one of them was handling video editing, the other guy would basically just be sitting there twiddling his thumbs...).

 		Wow, I never thought of that, but I love that idea! Hoody works carefully behind the scenes whenever possible to dodge exposure to Jay and the Operator. Many TTA videos lend themselves to the idea that whoever is behind the channel (Hoody) knows more than *anyone* else about what's going on.

Lots of the videos have him telling Jay what to do, where to look, who not to trust, etc. Season 2 especially has TTA constantly hinting at big things to come ("Did you see what he did," "This is the best part," "So much more thant ime has been taken"). Cryptic as these hints may be, they still suggest that TTA knows what's going on to an extent. So Hoody (assuming he is running TTA) always tries not to partake in "fieldwork" because he knows so much and wants to keep it that way. That's a great explanation for why he doesn't reveal himself until AFTER Tim's out of commission. Nice one, Starkley.

If I were Totheark, I would want to obfuscate my numbers. If I had relatively few people, then I would try to make it look like I have more. If I have relatively many, then I would try to make it look like I have less.

If Jay thinks Hoody & Timasky are all there is to my group, then he isn't looking for me.

But, this all assumes the ideal situation--that I have enough people.

Doesn't change the fact that if Totheark is three people, he'd basically have one guy doing nothing for half the series, which would be...pretty lame, storytelling wise and just lame generally. There can be three people if Troy and Joseph want there to be, I just don't see the necessity except to be unnecessarily cryptic/difficult/complicated. Which is Totheark's thing, but in this case it would REALLY be unneeded except to give Totheark even more mystery than he already has. So unless I see something that cannot have been done without more than two people, I'm sticking with two.

Also, Jay is never looking for Totheark/a member of Totheark/anyone except people he actually knows, unless one of them decides to lead him on/show up right in front of his face. So that would be unnecessarily paranoid. As long as they keep their identities hidden and their presence out of Jay's immediate vicinity, they're good. But Jay just knowing of other Maskies has never been a stimulus for him to go and seek them out. Same as The Operator.

 		Towards the end of season 2 Jay made a comment that TTA's videos seem to be made by different people. But presumably Tim was back to normal during TTA's season 2 videos (at least the later ones for sure). Yet, there were still distinct patterns that varied from video to video, such as the font. So idk.

There is Skully. Although we haven't seen him/her since a random video from 2006, so that'd still be weird.

 		Not discounting it, but that was months away from the end of Season 2. (That tweet was from July, the season ended in November.) It's quite a large timegap, so that doesn't really disprove that it's just Tim and Hoody. He had plenty of time to go and part ways.
