Any letters sent to SP post "destruction"...

I figured, last night, why would the SP ask for photos and pictures, some very specific (like a picture of a crew member with the word strong in italian), if the PMs were going to have her be destroyed anyhow?

So, just in case, etrnal optimist that i am, I fired off this e-mail last night:

Quote:

Dear SP,

I heard from a good friend of yours that you really wanted some
blueberry pancakes.

I hope you're still around. I hope you can still enjoy the pancakes.

When I'm worried, I do this: :\

I know the idea of sending you pancakes may seem funny, but there it is.

Say! I don't know how to say funny in Italian, but I do know how to
say it Gaelic: Aitt!

Anyhow, here's a recipie for pancakes, too! This way, maybe you can make some for your brother, right?

I hope you get to see Kamal.

The Best Blueberry Pancakes
PREP TIME: 1 Hour
SERVES: 4-6

INGREDIENTS:

* 2 cups buttermilk
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 tbsps sugar
* 2 tsps baking powder
* ½ tsp baking soda
* ½ tsp salt
* 1 large egg
* 3 tbsps butter, melted
* ½ tsp vegetable oil
* 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

METHOD:
Place buttermilk in a medium mixing bowl. In a separate large mixing
bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt until
combined. Whisk egg and melted butter into milk until combined. Make a
well in the center of dry ingredients in bowl. Pour in milk mixture
and whisk very gently until just combined. Do not overmix. Heat a
12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Add 1 tsp
oil and turn to coat skillet evenly, using a pastry brush if
necessary. Pour ¼ cup batter onto skillet and sprinkle 1 tbsp
blueberries over each pancake. Cook pancakes until large bubbles begin
to appear, 1½ to 2 minutes. Using thin, wide spatula, flip pancakes
and cook until golden brown on second side, 1 to 1½ minutes longer.
Serve immediately. Repeat with remaining batter, using remaining
vegetable oil only if necessary.

I too emailed the Princess even after I knew she was gone... because 1.) I promised, and 2.) I'm eternally hopeful Smile

Princess,

I'm sending this in hopes that the Queen didn't really destroy you...
that you're a clever girl and can get away just like talked about this
afternoon! To fulfill my promise to you, here is a picture of my
"twins".

Please PLEASE if you can get any word to me on how I can help you, you
have my phone number and this email address!

YOUR FRIEND!
Banshee

ya know i was wondering the same thing myself..... why would the PM's have her ask us for pictures? so i sent her the following:
Quote:

Dear Sleeping Princess,
I messaged you before hoping you were still alive, I'm still hoping. While you're recovering from the Queen's attack, I thought you could use some cheering up. My friend Banshee told me that you wanted a picture of her cats, Castor and Pollux. Well, this is a picture of my kitten, Carra Belle, and another of her and I taking a nap.
I hope you get better before Sunday!
Love

Well, as long as we're being geeks... Smile

Code:
Dear Princess,

It was nice talking to you yesterday. We all hope that you were able to escape. Just like Hertzog did.

I heard from some of your other friends that you like pictures of cats. Here are mine. The black one is Bo, and the white one is Supercat.

Good luck!!!

Everybody is sending cat pictures I hear. I suppose we'd all like to
think there's somebody there on the other end waiting for them.

At any rate... Why should I be left out? Smile

This is my boy "Wyll" when I first got him. I had been led to believe
that "Wyll" was Manx Galic for "Ghost"... However... I'm starting to
think that perhaps it means absolutely nothing in pacticular.

So now I tell people it means "Cat who chews on my feet when I'm
trying to sleep, or on the computer, or just whenever."

- Hits Her Mark

PS - If the SPDR was able to rebuild Melissa from scraps of the
ilovebees website... Will the P Flea be able to rebuild you from
pictures of cats?

HitsHerMark - I looked it up and found this translation in Manx Gaelic of ghost: scaa, scaa goanlyssagh, scaan, scaanjoon, spyrryd
None look anything like wyll, huh? I prefer your definition anyway. Smile
Cute kitty! I take it he is a Manx and will grow up to be huge and very likely bite off one of your toes. Wink
I like your PS too. Very nice idea.

shurikt - I love the name Supercat!

I think this thread should be renamed Pancakes and Cats. Then again, I go around thinking a lot of things...

hehe... that really made me laugh, thanks for brightening my morning

HitsHerMark... your kitten is unbearably cute... i mean... he's so cute that it hurts to look at him! the joy of cat ownership is something that i never knew until June when my fiance decided to get "us" a kitten (Cara lives at her place, but comes running to the door to give me a nose-kiss every time i come over)

what else did the SP want? peanut butter sandwiches? even if she is truly gone, i think this is a nice tribute that we can give her (i hope the PM's appreciate it!)

Isn't he?

He's considrably bigger now. Like 10 times bigger... Let me see if I can get a good picture of him now...

... Um... He was much more cooprative when he was little...

Actually, he's a Himalayan, which is a mix between a Persian and a siamese.

I got him when the people who work in the office at my apartment found a litter from a mommy cat that had been lost, found, and reclaimed by somebody who had moved away...

She didn't want them that hartless ... Lady...

Seeing as how I got him from the rental office, it was going to be had to pretend I didn't have a cat... So I had to pay the pet deposit... AND get him shots... And microchipped... AND fixed...

So annother possible translation for "Wyll" is "World's most expensive free cat."...

Yeah...

Gratzi! ^_^

Java Skywalker:

I *suppose* it could have been a stop-gap way for the SP to feed us more hints if we totally dropped the ball on the text marker puzzle... but even that idea doesn't seem quite right.

Let's say the Sleeping Princess survived, somehow. If she survived, she's very hurt and would have to be reparied. Quoting from Melissa (ilovebees 404.html page):

... we use network pings as a carrier for processing. In essence, the network itself becomes our circulatory system and pings become our food.

If the SP is hurt, it seems to me these specific, targeted messages could help "feed" her and help her revive. Another thought is that if the SP is alive, the Pious Flea could be quite helpful in reviving her. Has anyone tried to send the flea a message? Isn't there a specific message header that the flea monitors?

This is brilliant SPEC. It occurs to me that both Ad-Aware and my virus program sometimes quarantine things rather than destroying them. Perhaps she's "quarantined"...

Let's try it. I have not communicated with the Princess before...how do we email her?

ladybee777SPLAThotmail.com

but
she was quarantined before (theWeephun incedent) and before that (the glass coffin) this seems more severe
but again
undelete? as long as Mel didn't overwrite SP's sectors with 0's, there may be a chance for the Flea to put her back together (SP does seem to like humpty dumpty)

I would imagine the flea ought to be giddy at the prospect of finally being able to grope and attach to the Princess.

As for writing the flea, I think people were able to write to him before by making the title of the e-mail his version number. People wrote him to send him to Subject 5 transcripts so he could forward them to Durga.
