Oops, meant new clue when solved may point to proper book. None of Potter's seem to fit, maybe another favorite from here:

http://www.online-literature.com/

Still playing "word search" with the first two blogs...

heh, just noticed that Virgil is listed as an author on online-literature. The Aeneid is available there in English. #oops Razz

What other authors might be one of Felicity's "faves"?
We've got Virgil and Potter...

it may be that the 26x16 grid points to the book we need to use for the number cipher. (a book with 34+ chapters perhaps?)

This is a long shot but Beatrix Potter did author over 30+ kids books as mentioned on Felicity's blog:

"Along the way I've become a huge fan of the literary works of Beatrix Potter. She authored over thirty childrens books."

Could the numbers = Book . Line . Word ?

Only problem is, Wikipedia is showing that she authored 33, not 34 as the index might suggest. Missing "T" and "20" might have something to do with this?

I would agree except for a couple of things: She did write a journal, which would make 34. Also, we would need to be able to read of all these books and some of the ones I have searched are not available in their full text online.

As an aside: It's the 110th Anniversary of "Peter Rabbit", and to celebrate there is a new book coming out in 35 days. The new "Peter Rabbit" web-site re-launched this year as well.

I'm only skimming for now, reading in more detail later, but i have the entire Peter Rabbit/World Of Beatrix Potter boxset if that helps anyone.... It's only got like 23 books though, so that leaves another 10 still unaccounted for... -shrugs-

Remember that book-line-word would most likely require using the same edition of each book that the cipher author used to encode as lines between different editions aren't guaranteed to be the same.

We're going to kick ourselves when we decode this message, I'm sure...

Isn't that to the normal reaction to solved puzzles? It is for me anyway.

Not being a wiz with codes and puzzles, I'll instead add this very, very insignificant piece of info in regards to the character page on the wiki: I think Virgil is Toby the cats new identity.

Smile Yep, Virgil is the name of the cat (now), according to the blog. If we consider the blog site is entirely covert messaging, then even the name Virgil can be a key to decoding hidden documents/messages, which we've seen to be true (as per requiring Virgil's The Aeneid).

I don't think Toby is the cat's original name though - the reference to Toby was that he's still in Hong Kong with a new identity. It seems to me that Felicity has Virgil with her now.

Man I really hope this puzzle gets solved soon! Confused

The audio transcript for the audio file that was located under the picture that held all of these codes is as follows:

Quote:
Now my dears, said old Mrs. Rabbit one morning, 'you may got into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregors garden; your father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs. McGregor

There are 155 letters, if you wanted to know, and 41 words.

Actually the picture with that audio hasn't been found to be hiding anything. The files were in the blog post with the Peter Rabbit 'motivational' image =P

There's got to be something in the latest post though (the audio and title screen image), but it's a separate entry than the number cipher discovery

This part:
Quote:
FL: I needed a cat. Cat's can snuggle ... and there's no use torturing them cause they can't talk.
SWH: Well, is he OK? What did you do with him?
FL: Toby's in Hong Kong right now with friends. He's assumed a new identity aswell.
SWH: If I see you again, you'd better be carrying that cat.

makes me think Toby = Virgil. Before Felicity left China, she said she was going to "grab a container out of Shenzhen", which is directly north of Hongkong, so she could easily have picked the cat up like she promised.
I don't see that the cats names matter all that much, tho Smile

I've been reading up on this trailhead today so forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but in one of Felicity's first tweets she posted a different Peter Rabbit-picture - http://ow.ly/i/EkTG - with the file name 99595139.jpg as caption.
I'm on my iPad, so I have done little or nothing with this information (save from pasting the filename into her blog address which gave nothing), but perhaps you guys can make something out of it (unless you already have).

Ok, wow, I don't know how that slipped by me Shocked Embarassed it's the break in the page was a break in my brain or something =P
Yeah, clearly the cat's name is/was Toby.

It's also the profile pic for Felicity on Facebook.

Also, I think it's safe to assume that any of @FelicityVelius' tweets that have the #rabbithole hashtag are pointing to clues / hidden messages...

There's also:
Quote:
Mischievous Peter Rabbit disobeys his mother and runs off into Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. #rabbithole

Peter and his cousin Benjamin return to the forbidden territory of Mr. McGregor's garden. #rabbithole

Looking at the ow.ly image now though, presuming it's unadjusted by posting to ow.ly.

ETA: yeah, hex analysis and JPG binary syntax seem to show all standard content Confused file size is feasible too. Could well be that that was a first attempt at sharing the embedded files which failed, so she resorted to setting up the blog to host the raw image files. *shrug*
