I've been lurking on this thread for a month or two, and have been keeping up with the MH series since December. I finally decided to join about an hour ago.

Firstly, I must say that Tim and whoever played as ToTheArk were both amazing in this video. I'm sure we'll get the next entry next week or whenever they finish filming it.

Speculation : Tim has DID and went into his demented, masked guy (I don't like using the nicknames of Hoody / Masky and am waiting for them to give us the official names.) personality. The hooded fellow is obviously ToTheArk. I feel that Seth is ToTheArk (judging by his obvious filming experience) and works alone, and I think either the next entry or the one after that will be the climax of the series, unless something happens in the next entry(ies) that will cause the need for more.

I think that's all I have to say, for now.

Am I the only person that didn't get a heightened sense of urgency from the end of #61? I've pretty much expected a 2 week gap this entire time, as per the norm when posting entries...

Don't know why so many people expected an immediate update.

Because Jay left his residence to go find Tim and brought his camera, and assuming nothing horrible happened to him he would have footage to upload the following day

Yeah, because Jay always uploads footage the day after he does something and there is never a week to two week delay ever. He would never make us wait. Puh-leaze. There is absolutely nothing to set this apart from any other entry on the "next release" time line.

I wasn't expecting anything soon at first, but then Jay began tweeting his progress in real time. After that I was very surprised that there wasn't another entry prepared to be posted that night, or atleast the next night, as Jay can only post at night apparently.

I forgot to add that part V_V

And guy who just made that long post, that was an awesome read. But I have to debunk something. They said on the s2 dvd that

the story in entry 38 wasn't an origin story

And here in Oz, we have Dollhouse (which yes, premiered on Australia TV three years after the US) to keep us entertained. (Dear God, that show is brilliant and last week's cliffhanger..OMG. How the hell did this show end up cancelled in the US?!)

I watched all of Dollhouse except the very last episode...

I am convinced there is some TV executive out there who heard of Dollhouse somewhere between the first and second season and said "Wait wait wait... this is by Joss Whedon? Unacceptable." And thus it was canceled. Same applies to Firefly.

That's unfortunate. Ah, oh well. It was barely my idea anyway. Just what I pieced together from lurking for a few days.
I still say this is a great opportunity, though. I'm predicting a cameo from Jay, Masky, Hoody, TO, and maybe Alex in the next entry. Having all the pieces in place has great potential for some tension-releasing answers, from a complete OOG standpoint. The IG standpoint has great potential for Slendyrape.

but Tim's actions make little sense

Tim is already a paranoid person. Knowing that he has secretly been filmed for months doesn't help that. He feels that Jay brought TO back into his life. And Jay revealed a bunch of Tim's secrets to the world (even before entry #60.5). As someone else said, people who marathon MH often feel extremely paranoid, sometimes thinking they see TO everywhere. Now imagine you marathoned MH and found out you were one of the characters. And we don't know that he watched all the entries or which ones he watched (there was a theory that he only saw the more recent ones because of how Youtube is organized, so he might not have gotten to entry #18.) Tim's actions are totally understandable to me...

And I personally don't "get" totheark at this point. I like the videos, but his actions don't make sense. Why tease and creep out jay and watch him for hours on end if you don't truely want his help. And if you do, why be so cryptic?

Meh, this is a little annoying to me as well, but I expect that Trosephim will give a reason for it before the series is over. If they don't... well, I'll have to reconsider buying the DVDs. Twisted Evil

pravado wrote:
But why does Jay still think Tim can help him if he knows that Tim can't even help himself?

Like Jay said in #59, he doesn't know what Tim remembers or is lying about not remembering. Tim is one of his only leads at this point. Tim (as Masky) was the one in Jessica's room when she disappeared. Tim (as Masky) has probably unknowingly been working with Hoody, who seems to know a lot about Alex and TO. Since Jay doesn't have any way to investigate Alex, TO, or Hoody, the first logical step is to learn more about Tim (and therefore Masky.)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I also think Jay is just really lonely at this point and saw Tim as a potential friend because of their... er... shared traumas. Sad

Everyone has to understand that while we hate the pacing now, when it's all out we might think differently because we will have the whole story. Doesn't mean we can't be annoyed at the wait now though.

Totally agree. I started watching MH around the time #45 or #46 came out, and I can't imagine waiting weeks for Jay to post an entry about lying to Jessica about hotel documentaries... lol... It was fine watching it all at once, though.

What if Alex attacked him and he is in a mini coma? what if he is tied up in Alex's basement?

Then imo they would have ruined the hype. That scenario just doesn't seem like something that would be really cool or give us any new information

TBH, I don't follow your logic here at all...

Just thought you might want to know in the future. Wink

Sorry for the triple post, but this is what insomniac nerds do at 3 in the morning.

Here's a good reason: This is not a TV show. It is not supposed to have a set schedule. It is supposed to be in real time. That should not be a justification for long waits when needed, & disregarded when not. If they want to make it into a web show, I have no problem with that, but unless they announce that they're doing away with the variable schedule, I have every reason to expect that certain updates might come closer together, if a lot is going on.

On another note, I'm pretty sure that's a parody of the original story, which had proper tone, diction, spelling, & grammar, with one unfortunate exception.

I just read from Troy's blog. Apparently, they have to wait more than what they initially wanted. Here's the quote that I copied and pasted :

"The next entry will have a bit longer of a wait on it than what we initially anticipated. I've been gone since early Wednesday on a freelance shoot in Jacksonville, FL that I won't be back from until Saturday afternoon. We were aiming to shoot the next entry right after 61 was posted and have it ready to go right before I left, but decided on a few rewrites on what we had written for it a while back, which led to the schedule being shifted forward. We went out to the location a few times before I left and got some test footage that I think looks very good. We just needed a bit more time to plan things out before going forward with shooting it for real, but I'm confident it'll make everything better, and hopefully worth the wait! We'll get right back to shooting as soon as I get home. No date as of yet on the next entry, but it won't be long!"

Seeing as you're new, it should probably be mentioned that we have a topic for anything that is said in Troy's blog. Old news brah.

Pretty simple, that kind of TribeTwelve plot element just doesn't make sense here. Jay has never been 'missing', just not uploading entries with a plausible story as to why during breaks.

Given the reasons that the video wasn't able to be uploaded right away, it's not their fault strictly speaking, but it's unfortunate there wasn't something posted after the tweet.

I was actually thinking that it'd be cool to have a livestream from J, but as above, it just doesn't make sense. You can't just totally shift the series without some sort of touchstone in-between.

The reason for the lapse in time will probably be:

1. "I found Tim and was hiding out with him for a few days. Keep it on the DL, k? Entry #62 revealing my location will be posted tomorrow."

2. "I couldn't find Tim and I've been looking for him for days. Entry #62 revealing a plot point and how unsuccessful I was will be posted later tonight but it will technically be tomorrow."

3. "Tim saw Entry 60.5 so when I found him he, well... I'm only just being discharged from the hospital today."

4. "Not now, chief, I'm in the fuckin' zone!"
