I dunno, it might actually be a good idea. Slendy might be able to get away with appearing in a maintenance tunnel by going horizontal, but I'd like to see him fit inside a small tent.

The best defense since Spongebob's Anti-Sea-Bear Circle.

This explains EVERYTHING!!! Think about the Operator symbol! The circle is the face of Lil' Oppy and the X is for anti-faceless freaks!

Entry 61: Jays Anti-Operator Circle

Merged the "Jay's Income" and "About the whole "staying in hotel rooms every night" thing" threads. Adding [SPEC] tag.

So this thread is the same question I had for Jay when I first subscribed to his Twitter. (he is still on hiatus though) My second was if he still records himself (strange that there is no mention of sleepwalking or "visits" anymore)

But right after I asked it, I noticed their views and this answered it perfectly (plus student loans) v

Youtube partnership. Basically, Jay gets a paycheck off of these videos, in-game. They end up paying for literally everything. For instance...
They have 27 million video views, with 126000 subscribers. A bit more than that actually. But, regardless. 27. Million. Views. Just on marble hornets.
From this http://bizcovering.com/major-companies/how-much-do-youtube-partners-make/, we find that at the low end, someone makes around 2.50 for every one thousand views. At 27 million views, that's around $67500. 2 years. Given, a hotel every night kinda would suck hard for money, but he is shown sleeping in his car a few times. And he might have money sitting around from insurance on apartment goods, as well as other things. So, let's say Jay, spends around $50 a night on a hotel. He doesn't sleep in one every single night. Let's say he spends around 3.5 days a week on average in a hotel. Around that. Again, to simplify things, let's say he does this 52 weeks a year(possibly not true as he could crash in the woulds and be part masky or something) for 2 years. Ultimately, he spends around 365 days in a hotel, give or take. That's 18,250. He could be recycling tapes. As well, credit cards and stuff. Ultimately, he could be doing pretty damn well. Ish.

And the ore you view him, the more you help him kill himself ultimately.

Somehow I just assumed he's pretty much broke, scraping cash together and making ends meet by taking random odd jobs as part timers. Like how most people stay off the grid.

Maybe he's editing videos. He knows how. Lol "okay, Mrs. Smith's wedding at 2, then videos about the strange long limb faceless guy stalking me and driving me insane."

But you guys do have a point too.
Somehow he's not on missing persons, so any outside contact may/may not be helping him financially now and then, as well.

Or just like he says, he has no one. It's pretty easy to disappear if you have no family or friends. I even have family and friends and people in my neighborhood are surprised to know I exist so if I just up and left people wouldn't notice and people wouldn't care, especially if I had all of my bills paid off and what not.

I think it is unreasonable that he has a steady job. I mean he was experiencing extreme paranoia in season 1. So what? He had a nice 7 month nap and isn't paranoid anymore? (might be the case because he doesn't talk about filming himself anymore) But I think that someone in that situation would be too messed up to work at McDonald's and still be able to search through tapes/woods all night (there are multiple times he just sleeps throughout the day after staying up all night)

Though hearing a lot of these theories I realized. It doesn't matter. At first I was concerned because it made the series seem less realistic. But now that we know there are hundreds of plausible answers Troy could give us, I'm sure it doesn't matter which one they do

We know it is plausible, so we can now continue believing in a wiggle armed no faced basketball player from hell

I think working at somewhere like a McDonalds would be the best thing to do if you were Jay. I just can't see the Operator coming to attack me if I'm surrounded by lots of people.

Obviously. But hard to work and 8 hour shift when you stay up all night from paranoia

Be serious. This is special nutella.

This nutella has split personality. By day it is normal chocolate spread. But at night, well at night a dark hazelnut taste takes over. Both personalities just as real as the other, but only when observed as a whole do you witness the true nutella.

maybe he telecommutes. I know when I do, I'll do it from wherever, so long as there's wifi. He's got a laptop, and being chased by G*d-Knows-What can't possibly take more than like, five, six hours a day.

Why are you whispering? Is The Operator behind you? You better have some Nutella, I hear it is worth $20.

But in all seriousness, I think we get it. There is a whole lot of things Jay can do for money, and trying to guess which one is more plausible is like trying to guess which underwear he wears while he chases the operator (Better be pampers)

My small text was a comment on his small text, just as your small text is. Besides I then added something constructive to the thread as the small text was not.
