Have we decided exactly what the relation is between the Operator and "Marble Hornets", a film by Alex Kralie? I'm new here, so I'm not sure. I tried to search the forums, but I wasn't sure what to search that wouldn't turn up every single thread.
The former crashed the filming of the latter.

I understood that much. What I'm trying to ask is why, though. Why did he crash the filming? What about "Marble Hornets", a film by Alex Kralie caused our elongated businessman to intervene?

That we don't know. Evidence tends to point more towards the individual people involved in the project being the targets of the Operator as opposed to the movie itself. It seemed to at least be stalking Alex and Tim since they were kids, as shown in Enttry 37 and Entry 60.5 respectively.

We are hoping that they explain these things by the end of the series a little more concretely. But geaux is right, enttry 37 and 60.5 point at alex and tim having troubles even as children.

Okay. This is what I suspected, but, as I'm finding out while browsing the threads, I'm a very oblivious person. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.

"Marble Hornets was a bad student film. EverymanHYBRID was terrible health advice. Maybe Slenderman just hates people who make bad internet videos?"
This is my favorite theory, by far.

I always saw it as he wasn't affilliated with marble hornets at all, and that he had been stalking alex for a while. The only reason alex was able to find out about it was because he had a camera in his hand and picked the operator up on film. Before that every encounter must have ended with a mind wipe so he never even knew he existed.

Check this site out, it does a great job of keeping all the information straight.

Most people don't like to talk about horrifying occurrences in their past because it forces them to remember it. Being followed around by a freakishly tall faceless guy in a business suit isn't much different. What if every time jay thinks of the operator, he remembers being in the basement of doom or the tunnels under the hospital. Those are the sort of things most people try to forget about.

Plus. not only does thinking about it bring it to the forefront of your mind, I believe thinking about it brings it to reality. The Operator is all about fear and paranoia. and TO didn't find Alex until Alex saw the camera, likely jogging his memory of the operator after 3 years of peace

Origins In entry 38 when they are walking through the woods, Alex mentions that the forest used to be used to put the worst criminals on trial before god, and that they were strapped to trees to be stretched out. So is it possible, that Slender Man was one of these criminals? He is obviously taller and longer, but not "larger" in the sense of size. Also, he has an obsession or need for children. Alex mentioned "child molesters" were tried in the forest, what if Slender Man was a child molester who was bound to a tree, and the tree actually grew just like in the legend? And that's when he escaped, and kidnapped and strung up the kid like Alex also mentioned.

Joseph and Troy have confirmed OOG that the story in Entry #38 was not meant to be an origin story, but rather foreshadowing to the events in Entry#52. They have also said that they will probably never provide an origin story for the Operator.

I think this topic should be regarding Totheark instead. Jay is the only one who really knows about him/her/them but TTA seems to have all of the answers. They make it seem that way, at least. Learning TTA's identity should be priority - I think so anyway. But Jay or anyone else has almost NEVER mentioned TTA in the entries. I think at best there has been a reference to a TTA video in the opening or closing cards.
