Does anyone know the name of the building we are going to?

Technically, no. I'm personally going with the Metreon vote.

HOWEVER. We found the darn payphones, didn't we? We can *certainly* find a building Smile

Hey, I'm going (with catherwood), got my confirmation.

My comments on where it will be:

The Loews cinema is actually IN the Metreon, so if it's being held there, it's at the Metreon.

The Metreon has hosted at least one X-Box related event (Crimson Skies) in the past, though, as far as I can tell, this was before MicrosoftSF closed its doors.

So, a +1 for the Metreon vote, if it weren't owned by Sony, I wouldn't even be doubting the fact that that is where it will be held. As it is, I think both sides would see a benefit.

Chris

Edit:
Forgot to add one thing.

Especially since this one will be larger, have groups of people hanging around it, and probably large (very large) signs.

you know, haveing them playing on a movie screen may be the reason that it is being held on a thursday rather than a weekend. you would have alot of unhappy movie goers if you locked up several theater screens for a big lan party.

I checked movie showtimes and there didn't appear to be anything highly irregular, with big schedule gaps or anything. But you're probably right.

That's very cool, G3K. Cool

As far as showtimes, they change on Fridays...so that can't be checked until tomorrow. What if it is in the IMAX Theatre there? Hm? Huh? Eh?

Oh, yeah! We used to have to find pay phones! Now how did we do that again? Mr. Green

The street address of the Metreon is 101 4th Street, San Francisco, California 94103. Plugging that address into our faithful old geocode test site returns a perfect match for Melissa's coordinates, 37.784568 -122.404169. I'd say the Metreon is confirmed.

Are you coming up for this, Shad0? ???

We need a list!?!?!

Are visiting people coordinating crash hotel space?

I could offer a really pathetic and hard futon couch with cats attached but I live way out in a semi-suburban part of the east bay and have to go to work the next day and other boring details.

We need a SPREADSHEET!!!!

We need a web page with a database and a form where people can add themselves! Throw some technology on this project -- we're in Silicon Valley!

(the anticipation and excitement is gonna wear me out before next week)

If we get to play on the IMAX, I think I will probably die of happiness. Laughing

I personally don't have a hotel, or anywhere to stay, really, but like I said, that's not an issue because I'm out at 6:05 the next morning anyway - well before BART can get me there in time. If anyone is planning to stay near the airport and is cool with people crashing there for a while, I'd be open to that...

Anyone want to edit the first post in the thread with everyone we know is confirmed and is going? Or I can just start a list here on the fourth page. I'm not really into spreadsheets Razz

According to their website, BART starts running at 4am, which is in time for me to catch my 6:30 flight in the morning. I'm not getting a hotel either, as I was just sort of planning on finding a hangout until really late and then catching BART to the airport. Unless some kind Beekeeper will drive me.

Better than rushing back and hanging around the airport before BART shuts down at midnight.
